Valarauko is a wandering swordmaster of terrifying might loosely affiliated with Cindercone Clan. She speaks rarely, offering her services on terms of her own. This is almost universally the battling-back of other dragons or the slaying of dangerous beasts, both of which she excels at, but occasionally she has honored a request for her to teach Fire magic or swordsmanship. In addition to her formidable knowledge of war and magic, Valarauko is plated in obsidian, a side-effect of her native Fire mingling with external Shadow that she has bound to herself. This elemental armor will regrow if chipped, which she regularly does in order to craft and sell the exceedingly sharp blades. Previously clanless, Valarauko was drawn in to Cindercone in the wake of her friend, the bandit queen Lyrrkril. While distant from the rest of Cindercone proper, Valarauko is close with the rogue doctor Sunscald, having sought his aid for her wounds in the past and traded him her obsidian shards. Physical description Valarauko is a small, stocky skydancer with a presence dramatically larger than her stature. Her hide appears made of molten metal, plated with obsidian. Charred bone and naked muscle are visible when her fires are low, and her wings are a coating of flame over blackened struts of bone. She moves with a typical skydancer grace, and smells overwhelmingly of molten rock, smoke, and charred flesh. Combat Valarauko is a top-tier warrior, capable of felling a snowfall elk in a single blow. A master of intimidation, she uses sheer strength to rip through her opponents and a haze of smoke and cinders to shield her from reprisal. She is less swift than Lyrrkril and less resilient than Sunscald, with whom she joins forces whenever she can, but more than makes up for this with her strength and presence. |

Origin Valarauko is a child of Shingleback Clan, a bustling midsize group at the edge of the Molten Scar where few dragons know each other's names. She set out in fledgelinghood to make a name for herself in the wilds. For several seasons, she lurked in the tunnels beneath Dragonhome. A combination of Beastclan intrusion and rumors of more fruitful haunts drove her through the tunnels under the Sea to the Shifting Expanse, where she moved into the Deep Tunnels running beneath Derecho Canyon. Valarauko was captured by the clan during the Solstice. After two seasons of incarceration, Valarauko used the shadows of the Trickmurk Circus to escape, and fled north. She met and joined forces with her fellow bandits there. |

Kin Valarauko is the daughter of a skydancer and a nocturne, both of Fire and with a similar, though less powerful, elemental nature. Her mother appears to be pure nocturne, and a mere generation removed from the wild, while her father is a blend of skydancer, pearlcatcher, and spiral alloyed generously with every other kind of dragon known to society. She has several siblings, most of whom remain in the mortal world scattered to various clans. |

A relic of her time in the tunnels beneath the sea, the huge, spined badger surfaced after tangling with the Rogue's Camp's warriors and immediately bonded with Valarauko, apparently having known her as a respected rival before.Kinda sorta a balrog fandragon.
