Onua

BACKSTORY:
Onua was hatched from the same clutch as his Mirror brother, Casper. The two have been practically inseparable since birth, in spite of their contrasting personalities. As with Casper, Onua recognizes Pohatu as his father, but will acknowledge Seti as the same on the occasions when the Mirror is training the young Guardian in battle. Soon after reaching adulthood, Onua, compelled by The Search, came very close to leaving the clan for good, when Loki, Seti and Mariketa returned one day from scavenging. They’d brought with them an abandoned fire egg which Onua immediately identified as his Charge and which eventually hatched into his future bride.

PERSONALITY:
Despite having hatched from the same clutch as Casper, the two are as different as...well, black and white. Onua really takes after his mother: he’s patient and observant, preferring to analyze an unfamiliar situation carefully as opposed to charging blindly into possible trouble. Unlike either Seti or Sido, Onua will go to some lengths to avoid getting into a fight, believing that it’s far more effective (and less bruising to one’s ego) to maintain the peace and talk things through. His tendency towards diplomacy and aversion to violence has earned him a reputation as a ‘gentle giant’, and he’s just fine with that. Onua is a great thinker, spending a lot of his time in his head, very like Kopaka and Likahn in the way that he observes and catalogs his surroundings. Also like his mother, Onua is an avid listener, but has also proven that he has the capacity to be an equally good converser, when the mood strikes him. He can usually be found with Casper and Elsie, frequently going with them on gathering trips, but much of his time is also spent with his energetic mate, Nita, joining Loki to explore the different regions that surround them or to embark on little adventures of their own to find Nita’s ‘Charge’.

Onua has patiently explained to Nita on numerous occasions that having a Charge is exclusive to Guardians and that without the guiding urge of The Search it’s possible she may never find her ‘Charge’, nor need to. Although...he does get a kick out of watching her try.
