I was not born to serve, but neither was I born to rule.


Verity was born to Stormsinger and Elisa within Althra's own clan. Initially, Verity had hoped to move on elsewhere once he was full grown. But as time passed, he came to find that Althra's clan was where he found himself most comfortable.

Distancing himself from most other dragons, he became a kind of royal guard, ensuring that Althra's rule was kept. To those able to read the emotions of spirals as enthusiastic as Verity, they might note his infatuation with the Clanmother, and wonder if she knew of his ill-placed affections, and worse, if she used them to her advantage.

Having previously been mated to Siren, he now is hardly seen without Lazuli by his side.

After Esmyth's rise to power, Verity attended the old Queen dutifully, hoping to restore her to power after Esmyth would inevitably fail. Unfortunately, the old fae seemed unable to regain her once endless pride and vigor.
