makoto (or simply “koto,” a friendly nickname) prefers to keep to himself, with few- albeit significant- exceptions. despite having grown up among songbird keep and its residents, the dark coatl didn’t take to any of their markedly more outgoing mannerisms. most of his time is spent, instead, living quietly on the grounds of gooseberry’s nearby farm. while she cultivates the crop fields, he’s more than happy to care for the various livestock animals inhabiting the terrain; he takes great pride, in fact, in maintaining a rather impressive herd of micro goats. when prompted, makoto can tell you each of their names, although whether or not he’s making them up on the spot for a bit of amusement is unknown even to gooseberry. the sale of their milk and wool at the market fetches a hefty profit, so the coatl does indeed have a taste for the little refineries: although nothing much more than a pretty bracelet or delicate earring here and there. furthermore, makoto is likely best characterized by his patience- goats, of course, are notoriously stubborn creatures, and his lengthy experience shepherding them has made for an equally steadfast demeanor. despite his young age, he has a sort of peacefulness about him that seems considerably beyond his years. for this very reason, it’s been said that he possesses an “old soul” by others acquainted with him (which, in honesty, is the near majority of songbird keep, coupled with the nearby town.) with a personality that seems to exude calm, he’s generally a pleasant dragon to be around. makoto’s local reputation is that of a high quality meditator, whether it be within trades amongst merchants or a particularly scathing spat between clanmates. contrary to his soft-spoken tendencies, however, makoto isn’t an introvert by any means. while his circle is small, he does value those within it immensely, and meets with them when his work permits. |
