"Hey Zyrephon, Ive got more stuff for you!" Gregson said as he came over to the fae ladened with many materials. "Thank you. These should do nicely," the fae replied, looking over what the ridgeback had acquired. The ridgeback beamed and was about to leave when he noticed something. "Hang on... Whats this plant thing? Ive never seen anything like it before," Gregson said, lowering his neck to look at it. The fae fluttered over to join him. "I am unsure." The smaller dragon poked it. The plant twiched and showed its two heads, snapping at the fae. Both dragons took a step back. "Ah. It is a Janustrap," Zyrephon concluded. Gregson picked it up and put the plant on his hat. "Hes my familiar now!" He boomed. The Janustrap seemed to enjoy being up there, wrapping its roots around the hat to not fall off.

"Hey zyrephon, hows it going?"The fae looked up from the cauldron. "Just trying to recreate the bogsneak mutagen." "The what now?" Zyrephon sighed. "Did you really not hear about it? Haven't you seen baldwin?" The arcane dragon gestured towards the elderly bogsneak. Bewildered, the ridgeback stepped back, right into the cauldron. Letting out a cry of shock, his futile attempts to shake off the bowl simply caused more of the liquid to be spilled onto him. Finally the cauldron was released. Zyrephon flitted foward, looking over his friend. "Are you quite alright?" "I feel... weird" the ridgeback replied. The arcane ridgeback also appeared to be shrinking. Alarmed, the fae hurried to get him back to the hideout.

Only a few short days had past between Gregson's transformation. No longer was he a huge, slightly dense ridgeback. The arcane dragon was now a clever bogsneak. Gone was the worry of shedding spines and [mostly] the fear of water. The tendency to "borrow" lingered on. The most drastic change to the arcane dragon was size. He towered over his fellow members no more.
