Zacharias is one of the Elders of the clan and normally stays put next to Spyder, advising with issues. After losing his entire family save his youngest granddaughter Lireore, he fell into a depression so isn't seen as much nowadays, preferring to spend time educating Lireore and reading old tomes. He's known to be very grumpy and somewhat rude, to the point that dragons bicker amongst themselves who has the unfortunate fate of bringing bad news or their problems to him. Despite this he completely dotes upon Lireore and completely spoils her, and the clan leaders know he doesn't mean any harm. He wears the ring bracelet of his late wife, planning to pass it down to Lireore.

Zacharias was brought to the clan as a very young hatchling and was adopted by high-ranking members of the clan who were unable to have any offspring themselves. His father was an architect, carpenter and mason, and would teach Zacharias his trade to take his place in future, while his mother, who was the librarian, would read to him many books and teach his basic education. Sometime in his early adulthood he suffered a serious injury during some construction and was left permanently unable to continue this line of work. He continued his studies, becoming particularly interested in philosophy and was sought out for his advice, leading him to be able to start a new job as one of the clan advisers, while occasionally being able to still work as an architect. He fell in love with an ambassador from another clan, and the two soon wedded and had two daughters of their own.
