Finally RedTide has a son who admires him, and who shares his destructive impulses. BuckSkin is eager to learn from his father how to fight, and is interested in using his horns for movies like clobber and defense. So far his father has not had time to train him, but unlike either of his parents BuckSkin is patient. The easy going long horned tundra will happily wait as long as he needs to get what he wants. When he has the opportunity to take something apart however, his eyes light up and he displays a level of energy not normally seen.

While he waits for his turn in the colosseum, BuckSkin learns about the creatures he will face by tanning hides. Thanks to his hard work the clan now has useful pelts from the monsters they fight. He also has a floppy green hat with a feather as black as his mane in it. His father thinks the hat looks stupid, and has told him so. The rest of the clan is of the same opinion, though they generally do not bother to say anything. Those who do comment on the hat are told that he does not care what they think. BuckSkin has said he will take his hat off when he fights so as not to get it damaged.

BuckSkin has a special bond with centaurs. His ruby leg band is a gift from centaur berserker he befriended.
