With White Circuit Markings Body: Lean and muscled Personality: Eryx was a bit of a mad scientist in the human world, quick-witted and fast-talking. From a young age, he was fascinated by technology that others deemed impossible, and often quoted Clarke’s Third Law- any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. He was amazed to discover that Onyx, a pretty girl from a wealthy family, was trying to flirt with him, and even convinced her father to fund his brainchild, a time capsule that operated by warping spacetime around itself. Unfortunately, during the first run something went quite terribly wrong, and both Eryx and Onyx ended up with a complete molecular rearrangement, taking the form of a pair of Nocturnes in the vast wilds of Sornieth. The time capsule was completely wrecked, a burned-out husk sunken into the ground. “What just happened?” Onyx asked, stumbling and flapping her strange new wings. With a shrug, Eryx replied, “Any sufficiently advanced technology-” “Yeah, I know.” Over the next weeks, they met other dragons, with whom Onyx got along surprisingly well, and Eryx learned that there had been a mysterious civilization who had wiped themselves out eons before. His suspicions grew, and were all confirmed when Onyx showed him a small, battered book that she had found deep underground, the faded text clearly human English. Shocked that in this reality the pursuit of knowledge had led to the downfall of humanity, Eryx went silent for many days as the pair struggled to survive in Sornieth. Slowly, he recovered and changed back into his old self, spewing rapid-fire technobabble at unsuspecting dragons who asked where he had come from. He ended up getting along well with the dragons of the Lightning Flight, who were the best at keeping up with his often disjointed and rambling speech. Finally, he convinced Onyx to settle in the Tempest Spire, and has dwelled with a ragtag clan of other displaced humans, as well as pure-blood Sornieth dragons, ever since then. He gets along splendidly with the inventor Akira, and hopes that the two of them can rebuild the time capsule in a more advanced form, using both magic and old human tech from the Second Age.
