Duena is the second largest Guardian in Clan Mabruk and, like Caecelia, has a very long tail. She is not very fond of flying, nor are her Clanmates, given that she is known to trail magma and soot behind her. She is normally seen in the forges and only sometimes nested with Obscurum in the evenings. Her presence is wordlessly announced throughout Mabruk with the hiss of smoke from her armored platings, and the entire Clan is entirely convinced that only her mate has seen her true face. Even though Duena is an older member of the Clan, she is shrouded not only by her heated and heavy set of apparel, but by mystery.

Duena is closed off, cagey, and strict. The only time she speaks passionately is in discussion of her line of work, where she believes that she should have been given a promotion long ago, and about the values of exalting a dragon to a lair's deity. She does not appreciate dragons without her same set of views, and her temper is short. As a hatchling, Duena's original Clan struggled dangerously close to the Shifting Expanse, and aside from that fact, she refuses to say anything more. The dragons in Clan Mabruk have a habit of calling her "the Serthis" while her back is turned. However, because of her high position, the distaste that some of her Clanmates hold for her are forcefully held back for the time being.
