ISRA
By chance, Isra ended up traveling to the same lair as the beautifully sky-colored Snapper Cirrus. When it was time to move one, they decided to take off together - Cirrus had been worried, traveling alone. But with Isra by his side, he was ready to face the dangers of the world.

Their travels took them into Arcane territory, to the Starwood Strand - domain to the notoriously curious. Isra felt right at home and wasted no time engaging Schuyler in discussion. She found his questions, based in empirical experiments, both agreeably familiar and utterly infuriating.
When Cirrus shyly invited her to nest with him, Isra - while taken aback (motherhood had never occurred to her) - accepted. After all, what better way to learn more about such intangible concepts as love and truth than to raise a nest?
They had a healthy daughter together, and while Isra learned much from the experience, she wasn't convinced that motherhood was right for her. Once off the nest, she was ready to move on, though Cirrus was reluctant to leave their daughter behind.

In their travels together, Ismene slowly fell in love with Cirrus, and he grew to admire her even more. Though Cirrus was tough and could fight, any time they got into a tight spot it was Ismene who kept her head and found a way out of it, sometimes with words, sometimes with an escape route, and sometimes by fighting. She was always rescuing Cirrus, but when they were together in a tight spot, though she led the charge, they worked together seamlessly

Eventually, she found her way, with Cirrus in tow, back to her birth lair, where, having seen much of the world, she decided to stay. It was a darker place than when she had left, but the welcoming spirit and dream of being a sanctuary was still alive and well. And it was so nice to see her parents again. Under her father's expert tutelage, she took up the study of chemistry again, which she had been skilled in when she left, but had neglected during her travels.
Less than a year later, when Ismene and Cirrus were out of the lair, the unthinkable happened. The lair was attacked in a devestating manner. The pair returned from their exploration just in time for the rise of the emperor, just after The Peackeeper was successfully sealed into its den.
Realizing her father was missing, Ismene became frantic, and Cirrus had to rescue the day for once. His mate, who had been so solid for him, and saved him so many times now needed him. And he came through. He towed Ismene, who was mid-panic out of the lair and managed to coax her into fleeing with the rest of the lair.
In the morning, Ismene heard how her father died, in an explosion that killed the remaining maren attackers, but not The Peacekeeper, and which had also killed him, Darkwing, and Enyo. Vowing to take up her father's mantle as the clan chemist, Ismene returned to the old lair as soon as the emperor was vanquished and retrieved all his notes and some of his equipment.
She spent the time in the two temporary lairs absorbed in study, and by the time they returned to the abandoned lair, was well versed in her father's research. Still grieving, she took up his mantle, and is now the chemist for the lair.

This curious, even-tempered, adventurous Spiral has decided to depart from her lair (156067, Uinen), wishing to learn more about fields outside of science - she knew much of geology and chemistry, thanks to her parents. She knows there's more life has to offer, so she's off to see the world. If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. |
