Will o' the Ember Teardrop Jade Wing Loop Primary Alchemist Tools Bucephalus was found abandoned at the Citadel steps, and was raised by the main cabal of Leto, Kali, Typhon and Sparrowhawk. Unsure of what to do with a newborn hatchling, Leto and the others had spoiled him rotten. He spent much of his childhood falling all over himself, trying to keep up with his larger-than-life heroes.

He grew up as an entitled little prince, his connection to the most powerful clan members causing even visiting dragons to treat him with reverence and trepidation. He said whatever he thought and felt, no matter how frank or offensive, no matter the status or rank of the dragon in question. He decorated himself in jewels and gems, being as vain as he was prideful.

He was unused to taking 'no' as an answer, even when that no was, 'no, you can't follow us onto the battlefield.' As a result, Leto found him huddled under a helmet at ground zero of an all-clan battle to defend their territory. Despite getting him to safety, Bucephalus was petrified by the violence, cruelty and danger of battle. His helplessness had left him deeply shaken. Though they regretted his pain, his four protectors hoped that he had learned his lesson and would no longer try to follow them into battle.

Bucephalus defied the assumptions and began training as a mage, determined to follow his family into battle once more. Never before had he treated a subject so seriously, and his adoptive family was amazed at his results. Now when they leave to fight for the clan, Bucephalus can join them, ready to protect his loved ones through healing magic.

He's still mostly a spoiled jerk, though.
