66ei84J.png Yeong
The Magician

“求める未来がずっと色褪せないように”

Mischief comes naturally to Yeong, and he revels in his notoriety for stirring it up in the hatchlings. Coupled with his shocking clumsiness, one can only imagine the messes he and the hatchlings make. If anyone were to see him in all his airheaded silliness, they would think that he had been blessed with the ability to experience joy in every moment of life, regardless of what happened.

Of course, if anyone were to think so, they would be grossly mistaken. Yeong can never stand to put down the facade and disappoint the hatchlings, but his clumsy airheadedness started as a conscious act. There were very few things to cheer the dragons up in the immediate aftermath of the Second Departure, and sadness had a physical effect on the health of the hatchlings. The clan needed a way to set the hatchlings free from the emotional baggage that the adults carried. Thus, using the knowledge he gained as the former Spirit of Dark, he taught himself stage magic, using sleight of hand, illusions, and the limited actual magic he knew to give the hatchlings a bubble of happiness to grow in.

Then, an idea occurred to him. Clearly, having a happy bubble made the hatchlings happier and healthier, so why not bring some happiness to the adults too? And thus began the wholesome flirting. Nothing that could be misconstrued as actual interest, of course, but little compliments that toe the line. Even Athos tolerates it… sometimes. After many instances of being chased around for complimenting everything other than his beard. But it still makes the dragons smile, and as long as he can make them smile, he’s happy to pile on a little bit of charm.

Important Items
Foolish Prince
Aho mostly follows Yeong around for fun, but it works out for the two of them. Yeong likes mimicking his divine companion’s aimless floating and Aho follows the sound of laughter and chaos until they bump into Yeong. Sometimes, Yeong will balance his pearl on Aho’s crown for fun, because as Yin would say, what’s the point of a divine companion if you can’t trust them with your memories and identity? Her words, not his.

Trickster's Magic Cards
Yeong’s first set of magic cards. When he found that his old playing cards still held vestiges of power from his Spirithood, he did what he thought was right and gave the deck to Arietna. To his surprise, she allowed him to keep them, with the caveat that he was not to try to extract that magic from them in any way. Really, though, why would he? As far as he’s concerned, he has the coolest magician’s playing cards in the history of playing cards and there is zero way he’s going to do anything to make them less cool.

// Yin //
Her playfulness may be more reserved than his, but having a mate who loves fun as much as he does keeps his spirits buoyed enough to bolster the rest of the clan. Her dedication to her art inspires him to practice as much as he can, and only she knows just how talented he is when he’s not intentionally sabotaging his tricks with his supposed clumsiness, and that he purposely leaves his clothes visible when he turns invisible just so he can continue his charade of airheadedness.

// Chungui //
Chaos gremlins will do what chaos gremlins will do, and when two make double the trouble, one can only imagine the amount of trouble Chungui and Yeong can get up to in the gardens of their new material world. The ever-loyal Inventor may not have the exuberance or spontaneity that Yeong constantly exhibits, but whenever Yeong needs an accomplice, Chungui is always first in line.
