Biography

Clan Leader

Ocris is fierce and is always ready for a challenge, but underneath those scars is a wise and kind guardian. When she was three days old, she defended her sister from a Great Basilisk. Her sister died, but Ocris lived on with more than enough battle wounds and the guilt of her sister's death.

Nathur
Speiceis: Basilisk
Gender: Male
Nathur is the unnaturally massive basilisk that killed Ocris's sister. While Ocris was hunting she found him, injured and starved. She spared him and healed him, and all he has now is a limp and his scars from long ago. Nathur, being a noble creature vowed to protect her with his life.

Back Story: The Great Basilisk
It was just me and the wilderness. The sweet smell of grass and earth, and the calming smell of trees. But there was something stronger and heavier. Meat. Then I saw it, a beast with antlers like great branches. I crouched low behind a grove of trees, the beast raised in head in suspicion. It's ears twitched back and forth, it eyes gazing over the place where I was hiding. It froze, the sun must of reflected off my armour, a scale or I must not of hidden myself well enough. It lifted it's head to sniff the air, I could smell the beast's fear. I leaped through the trees, but the beast saw me coming. It flew beyond my reach and sped deeper into the forest. I chased after it, adrenaline pumping through me. Trees flew past me, all just a green blur. The beast was fast, but I was faster. I was almost upon it. I was just about to lunge at it again when a pitiful scream stopped me in my tracks. I froze, I knew that scream, but somehow it was different. The screams were now mournful moans and bird like wails. I followed them cautiously. Slithering past trees and creeping over the earth. I came upon a very large tree. The size of it's trunk rivalling almost as great as me. I heard another moan behind the tree. I crept around it and I could not believe my eyes. It was bird with a lizard tail and scaly wings.
A basilisk. It was massive, it had scars around it's legs and on it tail, it's wings torn a little from age. I step on a twig and it turned, it's eyes met mine. I froze, and feared that I was turned into stone but I was not. It powerful gaze had worn and faded from old age. I recognized the basilisk. I gave it the scars, and the torn wing. I fought this basilisk, I fought for my sister when we happened upon it. This is the basilisk that killed my sister and gave me scars to remind me each day. Like a wild fire, rage spread through me and it burned. I felt the fire creeping up my throat, smoke drifting from my nostrils. The basilisk recognized me too, it's eyes revealing fear and panic. It deserved the same fate as my sister. Death. I raised a claw to strike at it, but stopped. I thought of my sister, and how she thought revenge was worthless, said it never solved anything. I realized my sister would have not wanted the basilisk to be killed. I lowered my claw, defeated with my own reasoning, the hatred still burning. The basilisk looked relieved. I looked to the basilisk, it was injured. It leg was crooked and dragged on the ground useless. It was broken. It looked at me with pleading eyes, lonely and afraid. Just how my sister looked at me before it killed her. I looked away, but I couldn't leave it. I put it's leg back in the right position, and tied a strong tree branch to it with twine. It could not walk, and it was too weak to fly. I carried him on my back and flew him to my lair. My hatred and bitterness slowly left, for he was a noble and an intelligent creature. Somehow he made it clear that he was sorry, and I forgave him. It felt like a great boulder had been lifted of my shoulders, and I felt as if could fly to the moon and back.
