Illuminata and Plumra can come across as stern and fierce respectively until you get to know them.
Illuminata has a love of learning and sharing in it. Though she has become guarded with her trust, the Skydancer forms deep bonds and is a steadfast confidante to those who earn her friendship.

Though Plumra is absolutely a well-trained harpy warrior, she delights in travelling and experiencing new cultures, especially their food.

Plumra was an athletic sort who relished flying in sync with her fellows, but even more than that the harpy loved to travel and experience other cultures and their cuisine. So it was both out of a desire to be able to handle herself should Plumra run into trouble between cities, and out of genuine enjoyment. It was in the Beryl-Bluff harpy city where she was to encounter a life-long friend.

Illuminata had a thirst for new experiences as a fledgeling, and was entrusted with carrying messages around the realm for the Stanzascale clan. Every time she returned home she delighted in telling everyone she knew about all the things she'd seen and experiences. The Skydancer was given the chance to visit a harpy city for the first time when the clan needed a message delivered to them.

Walking the lavishly painted streets of Beryl-Bluff, Illuminata was awe-struck. Plumra saw the young dragon staring in wonder and smiled to herself. There was something charming about seeing a feeling she understood very well on the countenance of a dragon. The Skydancer probably would need a bit of guidance finding her way around, so Plumra approached and introduced herself.

Plumra helped Illuminata find where the Stanzascales' message needed to go and introduced her to a restaurant. Though this revealed ignorance on both parts as Illuminata almost made the faux pas of eating the garnish and at that time Plumra was unaware of which breeds of dragon did and did not eat meat as harpies did.

They came away feeling warmly about one another, and met up again many times. When Plumra learnt how much Illuminata delighted in learning of new things, she told the Skydancer about some of the other harpy cities she'd visited, and even a Longneck commune. Illuminata was enthralled. In gratitude for all the harpy shared, Illuminata gifted a small Light-enchanted orb that could be dim as a reading light or bright as a search light.

When Illuminata expressed an interest in the art practiced by harpies, Plumra attempted to show her a little bonecarving, but the Skydancer couldn't get the hang of it. So they found an inkbrush artist and eventually won their trust to honour Illuminata with some lessons.

Illuminata told Plumra stories about life with the Stanzascale clan, and shared a book she'd been reading.

Time passed. Illuminata's love of learning and of sharing what she'd learnt led to her becoming a teaching assistant, and she occasionally led trips to Beryl-Bluff to teach fledgelings about their beastclan neighbours.

Meanwhile harpy scouts had been reporting large, dangerous creatures in the sky at night. Plumra advanced her warrior's training until she donned her own crafted mask to join one of the city's harpy wings. Plumra felt obliged to repay the hospitality the city had shown her.

One night a harpy wing suffered several injuries from an encounter with one of the unidentified interlopers. Anger fuelled a desire to find the culprit. Every harpy knew about the chattering dragon who always visited, if it wasn't her, then was it a dragon she'd told?

Word travelled quickly, and Illuminata didn't hesitate to start quizzing adults of the clan where they had been on the night in question. If they were innocent the truth would come out, but she had to take action. When Illuminata was requested to come to Beryl-Bluff to answer questions, the Skydancer had a record of where almost every adult dragon had been around the time of the attack, herself included of course. Illuminata expressed a willingness to answer any questions. If it was a dragon, she vowed to help find the culprit.

The harpies were impressed and Plumra was moved. The two friends agreed to do what they could to de-escalate the situation (though part of this involved Illuminata smoothing the feathers she'd ruffled with her interrogation, to help tempers cool).

Although the culprit was not found, much like incidents at other harpy cities, after a thorough investigation everyone was convinced that Illuminata's birth-clan were not to blame.

It was this incident that inspired the two to dedicate themselves to diplomacy, travelling to beastclans and dragon-clans all over Sornieth to educate and facilitate peaceful discussion.

These days Illuminata is more careful with her words and trust. Though it is considered unlikely she indirectly had something to do with the attack, Illuminata still considers the lesson an important one.

Illuminata is strongly motivated by the desire to ensure that those she considers her friends among the beastclans come to no harm. Orick, Clan Azurenight's own Beastclan ambassador, holds similar sentiments, having been raised by a Longneck tribe. Orick is a trusted member of Illuminata and Plumra's network endeavouring for peace.
Events she has observed:
-A Trip down the Catwalk (Questionable canonity?)
-Allying with the clan of Shimmermist Grove.
-First encounter with the Azurenight clan.
