Atlas, like most of the other dragons in the clan, merely stumbled upon it one day while chasing a wisp of magic across the Plateau. As he was preparing to leave, Pleione mysteriously appeared and he felt compelled to stay with her and the clan. Atlas is very curious about the world's magic and its history, as well as documenting the spread of the Shade across the land. He spends most of his time researching or performing magical experiments with Pleione as his assistant. Even though he does not fully understand her, he knows that she is nearly as curious and intelligent as he is. Because of his endless endeavors, he is slightly detached from the clan, but he is far from aloof. Atlas is always open to intelligent conversation and tends to clamor excitedly about ideas that tend to go over most dragons' heads. He has also been seen with trainees battling the Shade in various venues, but he claims it's all for research purposes. However, his newest interest is learning the secrets of alchemy. As he is most intrigued by the stars, Atlas has decked himself in silks reflecting the night sky he studies nightly. He is also affected by a red and orange aura that he believes affected him after a particularly fiery experiment seemingly backfired on him. Eliana has attempted to heal his "burns," but they remain etched in his fur and feathers. He doesn't mind either way. After the birth of his daughter Maia and her doppelganger Aiam, he has become more protective and paternal, though he is still fully involved with his magic and alchemy experiments. |
