Biography

As a hatchling Killing was stolen from her mother by her uncle. He says he took her away to protect her from those that seek to hurt her, and she knows no different. He brought her to the Caravan as a child and raised her in darkness with only her self made lights illuminated her little world. At night as she slept he would tell her how wonderful and special she was and how she was powerful and great and would go on to do amazing things. These kind words painted pictures in her dreams of her with many friends and surrounded by other who loved her.

The reality is a sobering, bitter, truth.

Killing is Touched by Light in a foul way. Born deep in the Hewn City her Light is twisted and corrupted to the point some would call it Shade, for she casts a great shadow wherever she goes. Her natural state allows her to take a soul out of a being and put it into something else. As a hatchling she did it by accident to dragons on the Windsinger's Tale who were cruel to her. She put them into a series of marbles and threw them out a window and out into the Waste, leaving just an empty husk of a dragon that remained.

Dragons quickly rallied to throw her out. She was dangerous. She was a freak. She was a monster.

Butcher convinced the leaders of the Caravan to give him a ship so he could keep both Killing safe from others, and the clan safe from Killing. She lived on that ship her entire life. Alone. Until one day Searing appeared with fire in her eyes. Killing thought the Guardian meant to do her harm and hurt her like others had. That was not the case. Killing was Searing's Charge. Searing also became Killing's first, and basically only, friend.

As Killing grew so did her power and ability. And as her power grew so did the threat she pose to dragon-kind. An unknown entity began sending dragons to the Slaughter Three with the intent to kill Killing and rid the world of her twisted Light. They were met by an angry Searing and a calm Killing, with a doll. A doll in their exact shape and likeness. Dragons or beastclans who took the contract for her found themselves soulless, their souls trapped within the doll Killing had made for them. Rumors grew of the witch on the ship who would steal your soul and she became feared by all who heard her name.

That did not ease Killing's loneliness. She yearned for company. For friends and children. Her uncle would not allow her to leave the ship though. Not out there, where it was dangerous. At least not without Searing. So Killing began to make. She made her own children out of the souls of dragons she'd captured and materials from her cauldron and sewing basket. They would crawl crying and mewling for love and affection and she would be happy.

For a time at least.

Every time Butcher found that Killing had made these beings, these half dragon spawn, he would get annoyed. Annoyed that she was more powerful than him? Or perhaps that he could not fully isolate her? Or that they were just annoying? Regardless. He sent all of her children off to other clans as gifts, and those he could not rehome he fed to the Tongue. Killing never watched and instead cried herself to sleep over her loss.

Then she could stand it no longer! She finally fought back when her uncle made to take away some of her children. He won, because of the worm and demon, but only just. He sent her children off again and she hated him. While the Slaughter Three is Butcher's ship, it is no secret that it revolves around Killing. With her hatred she banished Butcher from his own ship for a time to grieve.

To make it up to her when Butcher returned it was with a gift! A dragon hatchling. His name was Prince, and Killing loved him dearly. She did not fully forgive her uncle for what he'd done to her half children but she allowed him back on the Slaughter Three after that.

Myth is a dragon Killing met in Mu. She, Searing, and Prince, had gone. Searing to see her sweetheart Connor, and Killing for wont of books and sewing supplies. Prince ended up getting lost and Myth found Killing searching for him fanatically. They grew close after that and partook in a secret affair, only meeting in the dark of night under the stars, away from any prying eyes. For a brief time then, Killing has been happy. And now she has a daughter. A true daughter. They are like her, but Killing will not allow the cruelty dragons have visited her to visit her daughter. Nor will she allow Butcher to learn of her.
