Pelangi, in addition to being the matriarch's mate, is the clan's interior decorator for all living spaces that need additional color (which is all of them, in his opinion). He himself is quite colorful, perhaps even moreso than Miraad, and it's only compounded by the paint constantly streaked all over him. He makes his own paints, and prefers to paint with his dexterous foreclaws rather than a brush for all but the largest areas of color. Other decorations come from scavenged cloth and weavings, as well as items found by other clan members.

When not painting, Pelangi is usually found doting on Miraad, playing hide-and-seek with his sparrowmouse companion and any hatchlings nearby, or rearranging his own small hoard of shiny things for the umpteenth time. The heavy satchel he keeps slung across his body contains sketches, bottles of paint, and scribbled notes about the things he's created. He also spends a good deal of time with the crafters of the clan, sampling and consulting on anything he could use himself.

Common clan spaces and everything dragon-made outdoors are subject to redecorating at any time. He does take requests, but defaults to riotous color and pattern, with abstract murals on walls and ceilings, striped and polka-dotted fences, and wild confections of fabric, glass, beads, and bones.
