Stern and solemn, Deri has a habit of being more than a bit of a hermit and his mate Elyndora has to drag him out to socialise more often than not. Deri might grumble about it but usually is happy once he orients himself to the situation.

Found injured, Deri was nursed back to health and the damage fixed Lightning-style by Merana and the healers. Some of the prosthetics were additions after the damages were covered: he insisted for them. Apparently his caravan was attacked by a party of monsters along the Arcane-Plague border. He still looks for his friends, not knowing if they are dead or alive.

At the lair, Deri met Elyndora - actually he very nearly hit Dora with a new harpoon thrower
the Nocturne was of course furious and flapped over to lecture lab safety to the newcomer.
However, she caught Deri’s enthusiasm and her lecture quickly changed to a stream of questions about the weapon. After a couple of similar accidents it was him who got nearly hit and partially frozen, the two decided to stay at each other’s side to avoid further accidents, and the two have been a happy couple since. After Deri was fully healed, the pair joined the Snapper caravan and now they travel all around Sornieth with the others.

Deri’s main field of experience is weapons: both well-built ones in peace, and quickly cobbled-together on the battlefield. He loves building and is enthusiastic about anything destructive. Creating the best death ray ever is his goal in life. Deri has a wagon full of electronics, a kind of a movable workshop, and most of his time is spent in there building and test new creations.

Deri’s natural lightning affinity mixes well with his mate’s water and they are known to work in tandem to create even more destruction. However, they have to be careful since water can damage Deri’s prosthetics. In addition, he both wears his creations and gives them to others. Deri has also occasionally let a Fae ride on his back and operate a weapon, while he keeps mobile, spitting lightning bolts at anyone who is unfortunate enough to get too close, and even fly small leaps with his jet boots.
