Tanzanite was rescued by Ancaladar when she was newly hatched and stolen away by one of the Beastclans. After that incident, when she came of age, she dedicated herself to training and began to loathe those who would avoid battle (even if it meant healing others). She is fiercely loyal to her clan and is well known to attack any and all unknown dragons who approach. She is also extremely loud and opinionated and is quick to challenge others to a sparring match if they don't agree with her. Since so few can hold their own against her, she often gets her way unless Ancaladar opposes it. When she is not sparring or berating the clan healers, Tanzanite wanders the edges of the Southern Icefield in search of interesting treasures. Her lair space is full of strange objects ranging from whale bones to ivory and from shells to glass. There are only two instances of her returning with truly unusual things- the first being when she disappeared for several years and returned with her charge/once-mate, Beryl, and the second when she returned with several pearls that were much too large to have come from any sort of shellfish...
