Biography

Yadira

A remarkably fast imperial dragon with a propensity for travel and adventure that rivals her call to healing those in need. Yadira has garnered a significant pool of wisdom from her travels across Sornieth, but isn't always available for the clan.

Used to be the clan's de facto paramedic when Sylphaeri collapses from arcane overcharge or when a day's hunt goes very wrong. The fact that she can carry an entire hunting team on her back has probably saved the clan more than once when it was significantly weaker.

Yadira took an unexpected liking to Eryth, a mirror dragon who was only just tolerated by the other members of the clan at the time due to the arrogance he displayed, after watching his crude attempts to help others as well and seeing straight through him.

Hoping for a quieter and more peaceful place to see the world of Sornieth, Yadira suggested moving to the Hoverview Vale to simply enjoy the view, but had her plans foiled by the destructive antics of a certain Fae dragon.

Yadira continues to travel across the continent, doing so more frequently as she became more involved in coming to the aid of other clans. This has stretched availability for her clan much thinner than she would like, but it remains ever difficult to find a balance she would like with so many in need.

Loves to teach others about the many cultures and clans across Sornieth, and to tell stories of her adventures.

Mate: Eryth

Closest Friends: Imogine and Aesin

I.

"Just hang in there, Eryth. We're going to get you a cure."

"Trying..."

"Just another hour, we're almost there!"

"I wrote this, give it to them if I don't make it..."

"You'll make it, you will survive."

"Just a few more minutes. Ack, my wings hurt."

"Love you... Yadira..."

"Eryth? Eryth!"

"I'll bring more oysters next time..."

"Oh, he's just dreaming. By the eleven, don't scare me like that."

II.

"You should've been more careful, it's only been a month and a half. Think about what would've happened if I wasn't here."

"It was only for a moment though, Imogine just needed help with moving in."

"Sylph, that changes very little. We don't want to know the consequences of allowing a blackout like that to continue unaided. It would be wise to rest for a while."

"I understand. Thank you, Yadira."

"With that, I'll be off to visit other clans in need of help. It would be a good idea to have another healer here, just in case."

III.

"We're back!"

"Yo!"

"Ace, your eyes."

"Yeah actually, what's up with them?"

"Long story, but Sylph gave me this thing..."

"Oh, so you're planning to help hold up the island with him. I should've guessed. He wouldn't have dared to give the focus to anyone else otherwise."

"It's good to hear that he's taking our advice though, he was always too freakin' proud to admit he needs some help with that."

"Mhm."

"Yadira, he did mention that you tested out this thing, can you tell me anything about it?"

"It didn't do too much for me, other than, you know, the eyes. I was able to sense that it had an enormous amount of energy stored in it, but I could never access it."

"Why not? You look strong enough."

"Eryth, I think it's a Fae dragon thing. Most other breeds can't really tap into lines of magic as easily as we do."

"Precisely the case. I use my own reserves to fuel my spells."

"Probably doesn't help that Sylph made it kinda difficult to siphon from it..."

"It's likely a safety feature; there's enough in there to disintegrate ten guardians just from overloading alone."

"Huh, how do you know?"

"That's hard to explain, and requires a lot more theory than I'm willing to talk about at the moment. Let's just say that it's almost like a hum, and it's either quieter or louder based on how much power there is in the area, but it's not like a hum and you aren't exactly hearing it... it's complicated."

"Err, okay..."

"It's like the joke that the lightning flight has: electrons are like balls that are rotating but they aren't balls and aren't rotating."

"What?"

"What?"

*cough*

"Um, anyway, it's important to know how much magic is left in the reservoir you're pulling from. The reason why this island broke off is because Sylph siphoned all of the power from the tether holding it in place."

"Where did it go? That kind of power can't just disappear."

"A tiny portion of it was the explosion. As for the rest, have you ever thought about why Sylph can't just land the island on the ground?"

"It has other clans on it, and would just tip over, right? He told me that it's not stable."

"No. Sylph says it that way, but he doesn't mean it in the physical sense. The island is completely overloaded with arcane energy. If it touches the ground and discharges, the result would be explosively catastrophic."

"So you're telling me that we're living on a bomb."

"For now. Sylph is getting the power to hold up the island from the island itself, and he intends for it to land only when that reservoir is spent. That's why I check on him every now and then; I need to be there to tell him how much of it is left."

"How much is left?"

"At this rate, centuries worth of power."

"Good timing as always, Sylph."

"You could've told us this."

"That's what I've been saying too!"

"It did not seem necessary to cause additional panic, but yes, everything Yadira said is true."

"Well, panic seems appropriate if the island falls."

"It will not fall for as long as I live. I will make sure of that."

"You'd better live well into your hundreds then. It would be a shame to waste centuries' worth of a great view over Sornieth, even if the air is a little thin up here."

"Mhm."

"Ah, I almost forgot. Welcome back, you two."
