Biography

Victor
Necromancer
Neutral Evil

For all that those fools in the clan are afraid of it, they don't understand that the Shade is just a tool - once you know how it works, it'll serve you just as well as anything else...

An aspiring necromancer, Victor spends much of his time experimenting in the depths of the fortress. His experiments are limited by the fact that the dead are not buried on the island, restricting him to attempts at reanimating deceased familiars.

Victor has tried to reanimate what remains of the ancient bodies that his minors find when he orders them to explore the sprawling basement, but most of them aren't nearly intact enough. Just the occasional old bone from who knows what sort of dragon. There have been a few intact skulls, which would be possible to return life to, but if Victor knows one thing about necromancy, it's that a talking skull is just about the most annoying companion possible.

Of course, he has to keep his activities secret - anything remotely involving dark magic or the Shade is not tolerated by a number of clan members. The hidden lab in the fortress basement keeps most prying eyes away, but eventually someone's going to have the bright idea to use the tunnels instead of letting them molder and crumble. To this end he has decided to voice a number of suggestions for ways to improve the clan. As long as Silas is busy with other things, he won't be bothering Victor's studies.

When not practicing forbidden magics, Victor is viewed by the clan as relatively pleasant company, if a bit distant. He is noted to have a short temper, but it's only when he's truly enraged that his demeanour becomes terrifyingly cold and vicious. Or when he's bored. Those two emotions are hard to tell apart.

A descendant of royalty, he abandoned his family after they began to show some worry in his interest in dark magic. Now as dark as the magic he practices, he seeks to claim their throne for himself, in a quest for revenge against those who had never wronged him in the first place. It's been a long time since he's returned to his home empire, and to be honest, he hasn't bothered to check what state it or his family are in. Why should he care? Clearly they couldn't care less about him storming off and swearing vengeance either, as they haven't ever tried to contact him. The fact that he moved to an island in the middle of nowhere has nothing to do with it.

Currently, his plans involve reanimating some of his deceased ancestors. Of course, if he does that, they'll need a castle to rule from. Or perhaps a fortress...

To this end, he has discovered how to animate weapons and armour with the souls of deceased... somethings. Perhaps dogs, as the weaponry has a habit of chasing squirrels and the like. This doesn't concern him too much. Considering what idiots his fellow clan members can be, they're really just like big squirrels.

But even Victor would admit not all of his plans have been good ideas. The floating candles seemed convenient, but the constantly shifting light is more irritating than anything, and they have a habit of floating too close to him and singing his fur. And then he has to trim the burnt bits off, along with trimming everything else, so that his fur length matches. And that takes hours. Those who are wise know to avoid Victor after he's finished a grooming session.

To achieve his goals, he's enlisted the aid of two other dragons; Midboss and Sonja. Sonja's the more useful of the two. An assassin of unmatched caliber, she's more than capable of disposing of any threats to Victor before said threats even realize they have anything against the necromancer. And as for her enthusiasm for killing, well, it's one Victor shares, even if he doesn't like to show it.

As for Midboss, the spiral's barely worth his keep. He isn't particularly skilled at anything, and has far more bluster than brains. He's not even capable of stomaching some of Victor's more nefarious acts, to the point that the tundra severely doubts Midboss' capability for villainy. Midboss is quite eager though, so he's still useful for grunt work, and perhaps as a meat shield if Victor ever finds himself in danger.
