Biography

A U R A E L E S M A T R A
HEAVENLY MATRIARCH

Origins
The benevolent Lady Auraelesmatra was born on the Zephyr Steppes of the Windswept Plateau, to a pair of Lightborn Imperials, not long after they — like so many dragons — fled from The Beacon of the Radiant Eye during a horrid Emperor infestation event that devastated countless clans and separated once happy families. Her distraught parents never quite recovered from their trauma, and they struggled to raise their only child to the best of their abilities, in a sea stack lair along the Wind/Water coastline. Aurae would, in turn, care for her aging parents until their passing.

After a long period of grieving, Aurae left her home and wandered alone throughout the bamboo forests of the Windswept Plateau, honing her craft in the healing arts. Her specialty lied in emotional health, and over the next several decades, she became known as a gentle shaman to all clans she encountered during her travels. Dragons, and even harpy and talonok beastclans, would often seek her out for medical and spiritual aid. She also has been known to happily raise orphaned dragons and raptorik children as her own. Many local legends have since revered her as Saint Auraelesmatra.

Mated Life
Her life of solitude ends when she finally returns to her old home, and meets a fellow Imperial named Satoragdos wandering through her territory for a home of his own. He was a reserved dragon with little words, but his gentleman demeanor and her kind hospitality would see them drawn together like birds of a feather. Their contrasting vocations, with Satoragdos serving as a for-hire mortician and warrior, did very little to sway the couple apart. They grew from fast close friends to eventually mated lovers hoping to start a family.

Clan Relationships
Auraelesmatra sees her clan as her family, and is always seeking to expand the lair in order to keep the momentum going. As such, any suggestions made by clan members of any ranking are taken into consideration, including ideas of moving to other regions. In addition to raising new hatchlings with Sator, she willingly takes in orphaned eggs and hatchlings during outings to take home and raise with the clan. Sator found this habit to be a bit strong, and yet, he began fathering new children without a second thought.

Her maternal instincts extend to all dragons who join her clan, and she always goes the extra mile to make sure they feel right at home. Clan members know that they are protected under her wings, and this sense of security encourages them to protect and care for each other in turn. Aurae is also knowledgeable about the cultures of other breeds and flights, which helps her navigate and better respect her diverse family. Faes and Spirals perch on her antlers and chatter away to her, Ridgebacks are able to borrow from her with no complaints, and even Pearlcatchers — though their trust takes a bit more time to earn — will hold no enmity towards her as their kind will often do. And when there is any strong contention between members, Aurae is the one who fairly settles disputes and keeps the peace.
