Biography
matriarchs daughter. life changed when she was infected by strain 160608sf. has turned to science and research since then. rarely leaves lab. constantly researching, running tests, and thinking about the strain. does do other scientific studies on stein per requests of clan members.
wears runes to block the strains effects. short tempered, determined, irritable.
There is no known cure for strain 160618SF. The only way to completely rid an infected host of the disease is to have the dragon undergo a painful and life-altering procedure to completely remove the specific areas that are infected from the dragon. This may or may not be an option for some dragons, as it is very drastic. Thus, it is advisable to use the rune method to hinder the disease instead.
Strain 160608SF does not seem to infect areas of the dragon with the Crystal or Iridescent genes. These genes may be the key in producing an effective antidote for this disease. However a dragon can still become infected if the disease is on an area of the dragon that does not have the mentioned genes. These genes only give those areas of the dragon immunity to the effects of the disease.
This disease is only passed onto dragons through genes to their offspring. Being in close proximity to an infected dragon does not spread the disease as it is not an airborne strain. The disease appears to be a genetic deficiency of melanin so is not contagious in the way other diseases are.
Further research and information is always underway on strain 160608SF.

Strain 160608SF
This disease causes the dragon to glow uncontrollably in the affected areas [fg. 2]. Insomnia is also a common symptom of this disease due to the glowing attribute. This can negatively impact clans, friendships, and family bonds. The information gathered in this journal is documentation of the effects, transmission, and other miscellaneous nuisances of strain 160608SF. Individual dragons that are not infected do not appear in the same manner as infected dragons [fg. 1]. Previously uninfected dragons have now become infected. This recent rise in infection can be attributed to the sudden increase in variable color morphology in new offspring of dragons. |

The disease can be controlled by applying runes to the dragon in specific locations. These runes hinder the effect of the disease and allow the dragon to lead a normal, healthy life. However the runes do not prevent the disease from being passed onto offspring of the infected dragon. It is advisable to not produce offspring while infected in order to slow the spread of strain 160608SF. The runes to hinder the disease can be very expensive and many dragons may not be able to afford this luxury. Most dragons will suffer the symptoms of the disease so extremely that they may be exiled from their clan, friends, and family despite being previously loved by their peers. |
