Javor's interest in mapmaking started as a young Ridgeback, hearing stories from his parents of their travels all across Sornieth. Their stories were always full of danger and adventure, and the gifts they brought back were always well received, but Javor retained a taste for the journey itself, often asking where they were, what route they took, and what landmarks they saw on the way. His parents answered as best as they could, but they were focused on the haul more than the journey.

Inspired by the life his mother, Stikla, led in particular, Javor set out to see all the places she had been to, but this time, taking note of his path. He ended up back in his mother's homeland, and saw an environment uncharted. He began to mark everything he saw on paper, until he knew where every landmark stood. Now he continues his work in Travertine Bluffs, marking Beastclan territories, herd migration areas, paths, and underground cave locations.
