Summerskye is a very clever and studious dragon. She loves learning new things and gets along well with the older dragons. She enjoys her lessons on writing and literature from Cherryblossom and her music class with Overture, who is teaching her how to play the flute. Summer also like to help Salem in the kitchen and is becoming quite the chef and gourmet eater. Summer is full of curiosity and explores the world with a child-like sense of wonder. She is confident and always ready to try new things. Being the sociable dragon that she is, Summer has lots of fun hanging out with the clan's other coatls. Summer especially likes playing tag, flying kites, popping bubbles, and spending time with her best friend Eros. She's a bit clumsy in the water and doesn't really like getting her feathers wet, so Summersky tends to stick to the cliffs and caverns of her home and is always scouring the rocks and mountains in search of something interesting. Summer is very loving and one of the few Bright Stones to maintain a close relationship with her parents in spite of the distance between their lairs.
Summer lost touch with her family for quite a while after undergoing a deep depression near the end of 2015. She and Honduras lost a clutch of nestlings when a group of serthis attacked and ate them only a few days after they'd hatched; the parents hadn't even had a chance to name them--something that is considered a great tragedy within the Bright Stone Clan. Honduras couldn't cope with the reminders of what he had lost and left the clan with his sister, Blizzard. Ygritte moved the rest of the Bright Stones from the Starwood Strand to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye to escape from the vicious serthis that had been becoming increasingly bold about encroaching on her territory. Meanwhile, Sky was over taken by sadness. She became listless and apathetic, spending much of her time hiding under rocks without even bothering to speak or eat. Her feathers dulled and for months her friends feared she might die. However, with time and a lot of TLC from Eros and the other coatls, Sky's bright plumage eventually returned and she began to participate in activities she had once enjoyed again. Though most would say she has returned to her old self those who know her best would tell you she's lost the innocent and enthusiastic approach she once had towards life. Summer tries her best to live in the moment, but she still carries the scars from losing her first babies, and many of the clan's coatls suspect she may never want to nest again.
