The unexpected product of a spontaneous mating, Ezri was unwanted by her parents even before she hatched. The ever-loving Lolanthe was given Ezri's egg, raised her as her own child, and will always think of the Skydancer as if she were her own flesh and blood. Though she is forever grateful to the Snapper for her love and support, she always wanted to know who her birth parents are. Lolanthe did not wish to break her heart by revealing the identity of her parents, so she knew she'd have to find out the truth for herself.
As Ezri grew older, she began delving into her abilities as a water dragon. Observing and listening to the waves for hints of both past and future. Hoping for some glimpse into her life's mysteries. As her connection to the surrounding sea grew, the truth she sought only seemed to fade further away. Seeking out her origins only offered visions of the Sanctuary itself.
Perhaps this was a sign. Maybe she was never meant to know. Did she really need to find out? As she asked herself this, a realization dawned on her. That she enjoyed the mysteries her visions provide more than the answers they offer. The aura of the unknown in her life was exhilarating, and she soon redirected her efforts in divination towards uncovering new mysteries rather than solving old ones.
Ezri was eventually offered a place as a Scholar within the Sanctuary, but declined the offer. More than content in offering her abilities and assisting others in delving into their own secrets. Which is how she met Kevser, a more scientific-minded Skydancer who seeks the unknowable in the world as a whole. The two have supported each other in their endeavors unconditionally ever since.
