Koenig was the first imperial that the matriarch's second-in-command Gwenwyn deemed worthy enough to bring back to the clan. Koenig had travelled on his own for some time, and despite having sired some hatchlings during his lifetime, he had not settled into any Clan. Meeting Gwenwyn woke up the urge to find a purpose to live for in Koenig - he was fascinated by the talks of the mysterious female, and eagerly travelled with her to meet with her matriarch. Arriving to the Clan he found out that his role could be far bigger than he had imagined, for Gwenwyn had thought to raise him into the part of the matriarch's prime consort. The matriarch, despite being very pleased with Koenig, suggested that Gwenwyn take him as her first consort instead. Koenig found this far more to his liking, as he had been garnering feelings towards the female who had found her in his hour of need. Despite knowing that Gwenwyn doesn't share such romantic views about him, secretly he is thrilled to have been chosen for her, and he intends to win Gwenwyn's affections in due time.

. From the moment he joined the clan, Raza has been bothering Koenig's thoughts. He finds the other male unpredictable and not worth his trust. Above all, Koenig sees the connection he has with Gwenwyn, and tries to use every means in his power to step between the two. His efforts bore fruit, and he's been gleeful to see Raza mated to another female.

. Unable to keep Gwenwyn from doing her diplomatic duties and gaining lovers from other flights, Koenig has tried to make sure that no one in their own Clan would have a chance to approach her. It has been to no avail with the newcomer Tempo, who enjoys a high rank as part of Raighyuu's Sentinels. He is fuming due to the matriarch's latest decision to bring Tempo and Gwenwyn together as mating partners, feeling that he has been ignored as Gwenwyn's first consort.

. Over the time Koenig has been getting to know Syriella, the adopted daughter of Gwenwyn, better, and the two have grown close. Together they have formed an unlikely pair, and Koenig has realised how much he enjoys the company of the young skydancer.

Koenig is calm, collected and has chosen to live alone for much of his life. He is an introvert, and for a long while he thought that living by himself was the only way to secure his need for space. Gwenwyn's appearance and the conversations that they had with each other proved Koenig wrong - he had been drifting for far too long and desperately needed a purpose in his life. He is always ready to doubt and challenge views and opinions, but never in a hostile manner. This is a quality that matriarch Arivia very much supports in Koenig's kind of personality, and there is an understanding respect between the two.

Gwinnia

. The three hatchlings produced from his mating with Gwenwyn were named Gunwa, Khoran and Gwinnia. Matriarch Arivia had forged alliances with powerful clans from both the Plague flight and the Shadow flight, and it was inevitable that some of Koenig's own children would be sent to their allies to serve, and thus Gunwa left for the Plague flight and Khoran to the Shadow, soon after they had hatched. Only Gwinnia stayed, and despite loving his only remaining daughter dearly, he is secretly angered for not having either of his sons with him.

. Koenig and Syriella became lovers behind everyone's backs, and they managed to hide their mating intentions from others for a time. After they had produced four eggs, however, they had to come clean to the matriarch. Arivia was furious that something like this had happened behind her back and her commands, and it was only the timely intervention of Gargannon that calmed down the matriarch's wrath. Gargannon was able to save both their hides, on the promise that he would take Syriella as his concubine and that Koenig and Gwenwyn were to produce another clutch of eggs as soon as possible to prove his obedience and loyalty to the matriarch.

- After Koenig's and Syriella's eggs hatched, the children were named Ginrie, Koniela, Ellani and Neoren. It was obvious from the start that matriarch Arivia would not allow all the hatchlings to remain, and has been working for a solution to forward two of them away. Despite this, Koenig feels a sense of rebelliousness and victory for having both a daughter and a son stay at his side. He harbours ill-will and anger towards matriarch Arivia for forcing him to go back to Gwenwyn, who's shown how little she cares for him romantically, unlike Syriella who has real feelings for him.
