ReefShimmer is a free spirit, one filled with happiness and an endless sense of curiosity. She loves nothing more than to explore, and discover things she didn’t know before. She never wishes to be tamed, and wants her freedom as she needs it. She does not wish to be tied down, maybe she longs for love? She would need someone just as adventurous and longing to explore as she is! Don’t be scared, ReefShimmer is a very kind hearted dragon, and does care for others in her clan deeply. She never likes to see anyone sad, and is always one to try and cheer them up. She is a kind hearted soul, so to say. She does not let others walk over her, not like her parents did. She refuses to be what others want her to be, and is all about self-expression and free will. ReefShimmer is a dragon of endless dreams, and a very active imagination, always one to be the first to dive into the unknown.[/columns]

ReefShimmer was born to a clan of elegance and grace. A family of pure Imperials that prided themselves in their high regard to manners and their regal presence. Located in The Cloudsong these wide range Imperials were raised and trained to act royal, to be royal. Though they themselves were not royalty, they claimed they were nobles and should act as such (though there may be no truth to this. It is rather unknown.) Many Imperials who thought themselves as Royals found their way to this regal clan. They seem to have a shared idea that they are meant to be much more important than they really think.

ReefShimmer, however, was born of two parents who were royalty in the eyes of their clan members. High ranking in the clan, their beauty and way of going was the ideal the entire clan strived for. Her mother, a Light Dragon, and her father, a Nature Dragon, both migrated to this high class clan. She was only one of many siblings, but she differed from them. ReefShimmer was a free spirit, eager to explore the world and see what it holds.

But that was not what her parents wanted her to be, oh no. Very quickly as the pretty Imperial began to grow, they began to mercilessly beat away her curious nature. Forcing proper manners onto her, doing their best to force the young female into the mold she was meant to fit into. She was to be a royal, like they themselves were. Over a few months, they destroyed the spirit of their daughter. Her long for adventure slowly fading away.

She made herself fit into the mold meant for her, as much as it pained and hurt her. She had to make her parents proud. She became an elegant female; she could ball room dance, paint, sing, play a piano, and write. She had been made into a proper young lady. However, deep down and when by herself, she was still a curious female with dreams of seeing the world someday.

For ReefShimmer, the turning point was when her parents took her to one of the large and sophisticated clan Balls held at the Mirrorlight Promenade. Dressed to perfection she walked alongside her parents as they entered, and she enjoyably danced and socialized most the night away. However, this was soon halted as her father, and another Imperial she didn’t recognize took center stage. Her father called her over, and before the entire clan, announced her betrothal to the other male Imperial with him, a nearly 17 year age difference.

Horrified, ReefShimmer pushed her way out of the ball room, and away from her clan. She could never go back to that, she could never mate and love a dragon she had never met. What hurt her more, was now fully understanding her parents constant grooming, to make an ideal daughter to sell off for status. She decided then and there, overlooking the ocean that she would never again come back to the realm of Light or Wind. She took flight, heading out over the endless ocean in hope of a new life.

She flew longer than she ever had before. Away from her parents control, she was finally free, but now horridly lost! She finally began to weaken, and soon after, she could fly no more and crashed into the seawater. Little did she know she had landed not far from the Adaption Station that belonged to The Great Coral Reef Clan. The Ridgeback Sea Urchin had watched her fall, and had quickly gotten out to her and managed to get the young female back to his safe place of dry land.

The Coral Reef clan welcomed ReefShimmer with open arms, and she could not believe the place she had landed. The reef was alive, with all sorts of life and things to explore. Meeting all the clan members, and being able to join was an honor, and an excitement. She had found her home.

She instantly began to apprentice everyone in the clan, learning as much as she could and wanting to really get the idea of the experience the various ways of life of the clan. It was very soon though, she found her calling when she began to talk to the explorers of the clan. She knew instantly in her heart she had found her calling. She began to follow IceFlow and IcyWaters around like a rather large shadow. She wanted nothing more than to be like them, and explore for the clan.

She soon began to go off on small missions of her own, but sadly for her, the clan was forced to move towards the Sunbeam Ruins. ReefShimmer feared this more than anything, and now there she began to keep more to herself, and the place the clan was calling home. She had no intention of ever finding her parents, or her old clan ever again.
