______ When Blue found Ouzel exiled in his birthplace of the Windswept Plateau, he had no sense of direction and no idea of where to go or what to do with himself. He had been living alone off of the inhospitable land since he was a hatchling, and with such little social understanding or contact with other dragons, he seemed wild, like the beasts that roamed the land. The only other dragon he ever regularly saw was his sister, Nihmedu, who smuggled him food from his birthclan to keep him alive- barely. No-one had ever taught him how to hunt, and he mostly lived off of whatever edible plants he could forage from the wilds. Blue could see he had his work cut out for him. It took a while, but Ouzel eventually grew to trust Blue, whose patience and detemination was admirable, and began his slow socialisation back into dragon society alongside Blue.

______ Ouzel and Blue have had an odd relationship that is confusing at best to outsiders. While Ouzel has sired many children with other dragons and has had no small amount of flings and romps, all of his former lovers will agree that he barely shows any outward affection whatsoever, and is terrible at upholding commitments. It is true that his heart really lies with Blue, the one dragon he always returns to, and the only other who has seen Ouzel's softer, vulnerable side.

______ With Murmur's ascension to Clan Matriarch, Ouzel's former role has become redundant, and he serves no more purpose within the leader's inner circle. He has seen his rank usurped by his own daughter, Berry, whom he never really regarded prior to this. That he could deal with, but seeing how Blue, his beloved leader, has been utterly castrated and humiliated, leaves a foul taste in his mouth and fire in his belly.

______ Vengeance is swift, and Ouzel bides his time and accepts his new, unimportant role as a clan ambassador with the patience and dignity of a century-old Imperial. When he walks through his territory now, the other dragons stare up at him with fear in their eyes, fear for how brutally their former war leader has been cast aside and how he might retaliate, but Ouzel pays no mind.

______He is nothing if not adaptable.
