Aysel

After the collapse of the royal lair, Aysel was sent by the Alchemist's Guild to replace the Royal Alchemist slain in the disaster. Aysel seemed a perfect fit, she was one of the best and brightest in the Guild. After the Guild aided Celys' rise to Clan Matriarch, they wanted a Royal Alchemist who could be their eyes and ears at court. Someone who could push their agenda and remind the new Matriarch just to whom she owed her place of power.

However, the Alchemist's Guild may have mistaken Aysel's ambition for loyalty. She knew the position would afford her no real influence in Marlinspike Cove, she would simply be a mouthpiece for the Guild Leaders. Aysel, disregarding orders from the Guild, wasted little time in gaining the Matriarch's favor and establishing real influence at court.

There is little the Guild can do about their wayward Royal Alchemist, lest they betray their hand and reveal their true intent to the Matriarch. The Guild awaits any opportunity to dispose of Aysel, but their chances dwindle the deeper she gets pulled into the Matriarch's inner circle.
