~ History ~
Always a water-lover growing up, she was named Stelmaria, which meant "Star of the Sea". She would take long flights into the ocean and around shorelines, just enjoying the fresh breeze, the crashing of waves and the spray of the sea while flying low, the endless blue of the waters from horizon to horizon. When Wavecrest Saternalia came around, she jumped at the chance to chaperone a flight of students from the Tree on a field trip to the festival. There, in one of the festivities, she volunteered to be painted the colours of the ocean and compete in the various sports as a representative from Wind. Although she didn't win any trophies, it was all in good fun and she found the blue on her scales most lovely, and decided to keep the appearance for a short while when returning to the tree, and insisted Kaela paint her blue on special occasions. A wave of water sprites followed her back, and they can often be seen taking long flights out to the ocean to have fun on the beaches and in the surf.
~ At the Tree ~
While not a water dragon, Stel proved to be the best at the tree in flying over oceans and navigating water bodies, from all the time she spent over the sea. She enjoys being a member of the Watch as it afforded her many opportunities, and is also a point-dragon on the gathering flight. Whenever she's leading, the flight could always be found digging and scavenging along the beaches and rivers across the land, paired each with a water sprite. The gathering flight dragons have a competition among themselves each time to see who could scrounge up the best stuff, and the winner gets to have first pickings of trinkets to take home and the best grub for the day; Stel has had this honour so often she refuses to be counted in the competition, and instead helps to judge the winners. The Tree's great caches of materials were the results of her flight's gathering efforts.
~ Personality Notes ~
She can be slightly aloof and quieter when on land and when feeling cooped up, but reverts to being wild, carefree, enthusiastic and sassy when around and over lakes, rivers and seas.
~ Familiar ~
Her water sprite, Fey, accompanies her everywhere, especially out over the ocean. A large school of water sprites reside at the tree, and Stelmaria is their caretaker; these water sprites at the tree have a seemingly telepathic bond with each other, which comes in very useful: whenever dragons are sent out across water for the first time, or on long journeys such as on gathering trips, water sprites accompany them, so that Stel can be summoned if help is needed, or if something of particular interest is seen.
~ Mateship Notes ~
She's very wild and carefree, and has a soft spot for other good-natured dragons with an affinity for water. She has had many flings with such drakes, a new one each time, and can be quite flirtatious when the right time comes around, but also can't stand being cooped up on a nest so it's not always that she settles with a new mate for the period it takes to hatch and raise fledgelings.
