Emerus was brought into Madrigal's forest clan when he was but a hatchling, as a playmate and future partner of the matriarch's daughter Tanvir. He is shy, soft and sweet, and definitely not the smartest of dragons. Emerus was always much more content to chase butterflies than engage combat practice with his fiancee.

But he never spoke up against what he had been expected to do his whole life. If he had, he probably wouldn't have had to go through with it. Everyone assumed he was pleased with Tanvir and had no objections to the impending marriage. In truth, he didn't, not really. Emerus has an appreciation for most things in life and thus could respect and appreciate his fiancee, despite her ferocity, wicked temper, and bloodlust. They married, had several clutches together.

Some months after hatching another clutch Emerus finally realises Tanvir is spiralling into more aggression than ever before. He approaches Xemoroir, Tanvir's father, for help. The matriarch's husband is worried by what he hears, but also knows there isn't much attachment on Tanvir's side. A split is recommended, and goes through rather quietly, Tanvir herself not fussing much.

In the midst of this, Emerus learns of a fire egg mysteriously dug up on an expedition. The egg is hatched and grows into a beautiful fae dragon. Her beauty and grace is couple with a timid, flittering personality, and Emerus finds they get along well. They take each other as mates and are happier with this quieter, more social life, rather than the one of combat he'd had before.
