Persephone Queen of the Underworld It was a beautiful day, she remembered. The liveliness of spring graced the earth with abundant greenery - just the way she liked it. She was always attracted to the flowers of Nysa, and they would be a fine gift for her mother. But it was not to be. Ever swiftly she was put to sleep, carried away by mysterious winds deep into the depths of the Underworld. Although they traveled faster than the speed of light, it was warm, she recalled, blushing a little. She was carried away not unkindly, but swept away by a wave of passion. And Persephone found it hard to resist his charm, even if she tried to caution herself off his trickery. It was hard looking at his piercing gaze as he stared unblinkingly at her. So lost and utterly drowned in love by his love was she, especially since her true nature as a nocturne was to mimic those around her... that slowly but surely her attachment towards Hades blossomed like the first flowers of spring. Her mother was vehemently against the union. So the young lovers fled together, away to the Scarred Wastelands. They visited the cult leader of the Sisterhood, Eha, and sought her witchery. Knowing her mother would never rest until she was found, the young Goddess inhaled a potion brewed by the witch and fell into a deep slumber. Hades watched over her for days, restless and worrying. On the last day of the week he was prepared to put an end to the witch's life. Suddenly, Persephone opened her eyes - reborn as a coatl. He would adorn her with fairy wings and silks, calling her his Queen. She brought greenery to his withered flesh and bones, while he himself was charmed by the change she wrought upon him.
