Barbus

Barbus is the clan's chief guardsmen and head of security at the Back Bog Trading Post. A meager (but powerful) force comprised mostly of Guardian dragons, they act as the law enforcement, defenders and occasionally bouncers for the mercantile group.

He came to the Black Bog clan as one of Rhizanthel's hired thugs, assuming that it'd be a short, simple job. However, the Matriarch simply kept renewing his contract and, never one to turn down easy pay, Barbus simply kept accepting. Since those early days, the black dragon had become one of the most solid constants at the trading post, acting as a kind of father figure to the younger guardsmen.

A veteran of years of fighting, Barbus' hide is riddled with scars, trophies of battles from long ago. His armour is dented and tarnished and missing more than a few pieces, though he adamantly refuses to throw it away, citing it as his 'lucky armour'.

Although Barbus is an old dragon, he often acts quite a bit more crotchety than his age would suggest. Complaining about aching joints and sore muscle for the sake of complaining. Yet, despite this terrible quirk, Rhizanthel still manages to find something attractive in the male, as evidenced by their on-again-off-again relationship.
