Brassica was the first dragon attracted to Pteris' lair, and as the most senior member besides him takes it upon herself to know everything that's going on. She is considered somewhat of a mother figure to many of the dragons in the lair. She tries be strict with the hatchlings, but is mostly a well-loved pushover. She mostly just ‘tsk tsks’ and offers the hatchlings cookies (or grubs) to distract them from whatever they’re doing wrong. The hatchlings try and trick Brassica so she doesn’t notice bad behavior, because they know they can get away with it. The worst she does is enforce a short ‘time out’.

Despite her small size she does a laudable job of taking care of the children until they are ready for further studies... and never needs to call on the larger dragons to help (yeah right).

Brassica is named after the mustard genus, which includes many of the vegetable staples of modern society, including cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and the seeds used for canola oil.
