Orchestra
-The Enigmatic Poet-
The Starwood Strand, they say, is a two-sided coin. There are those who can find beauty in the glimmering trees, inspiration beneath the dappled sky. Yet there are others who, blinded, are lost amongst the glittering blossoms, never to be seen or heard from again. Cursed, blessed, a land of indescribable beauty and unfathomable danger...and the fountainhead of inspiration for a certain young tundra dragon. An oddity amongst oddities with his beige fur and brilliant jade wings, the drake had, from the beginning, shown no interest in learning, no talent with any sort of magical art. He remained unnamed, with little purpose. All the jade-winged dragon seemed to enjoy was wandering the Starfall Isles, singing songs and whispering tales to anyone who cared to listen, and there were many. Somehow, though he had little prestige within his element, the jadewing could capture instant attention, call forth any emotion, simply through his voice. However, he still showed no signs of magical progress, and charisma could only get one so far. Years passed, and still he had not found a name or calling, a fact that, though it was well-hidden, troubled him deeply.

His wanderings grew less frequent, before stopping altogether, and the jadewing settled himself, alone, in the Star Woods. He'd heard tales of the genius such a place could call forth. Nothing else had worked, and he had nothing to lose. So he sat. And waited for inspiration to strike. Hours turned into days, days morphed into weeks, and still nothing came to him, no flash of divine energy worked its way into his core. Instead, boredom leaked in. Waiting was torturous, and so the dragon turned to his one skill for entertainment. He jabbered to himself, worked on his joke repertoire, and eventually, filled the Strand with otherworldly melodies that shifted and endlessly reformed like the energies of the land itself. Inspiration didn't strike him. No flash of divine light illuminated his path. Instead, he sang his own tale, and in time, he understood. When he finally left his forced solitude, the jadewing was astonished to find a ring of dragons gathered by the edge of the strand, attracted to his music like moths to a light. They called it The Orchestra, and with glittering eyes, the Tundra took note and adopted the name as his own. He flew off, unseen, and his music faded away, another fragment of beauty lost among the glittering trees.
