Born in a plagueling clan with a plagueling name, Ratha was doomed to be a monster from the very beginning. The Plaguebringer had gifted her with superior strength and cunning, gifts she didn't know how to control. With a tendency for violence, she made few friends. Her sparring partners were maimed for life. Her attackers never drew breath again. She was spite-filled, unpredictable, and out of control.

When the clan leader tried to discipline her, she crushed his windpipe in her jaws.

They blunted her claws and filed her teeth, but they couldn't quench the hatred saturating her heart. She turned her back on her clan and her god, for how could they call her ability a gift and then take it away from her? Ratha took odd jobs as she traveled around the Sea of a Thousand Currents, lending her strength to haul materials or assist in construction. She never stayed in one place for long; her virulent nature made it difficult to take orders and she was constantly getting fired. The tedium began to wear on her and she longed for the taste of blood again. If only she had her fangs back. If only her claws could regain their sharpness.

She ran into Bane on the southern border of the Light domain, when the camp she was staying in was hit by one of Bane's raids. The mirror offered Ratha a place in her band and, more importantly, a life where she could do as she pleased. Metalworkers in the Blacksand Annex were commissioned, and a month later a courier arrived with sharpened caps for Ratha's teeth and blades for her claws. She had her tools back. She could finally kill again. To this day, Ratha serves as Bane's right arm, her fist of justice, her executioner's scythe.

There was never a dragon Ratha loved half as much as battle. Death is her dance, and slaughter is her song.
