Shade was the first dragon to enter the clan, having long ago left her birth clan on her Search. She had already travelled the length and breadth of Nature's realm, and now wished to go elsewhere in order to locate her Charge. Once she became a part of the clan, she decided she had found it, and hasn't left since.

No one's quite sure what her Charge is, though when asked Shade will reply that it is the Clan itself. She is a protector, keeping harm from befalling any of the dragons within it. Naturally, this puts her at odds with some of the other dragons, particularly Umbra, but she doesn't mind it. Fiera is her greatest friend, and when she is not on duty, she is more than willing to help the Fae with her experiments and make sure that she remembers to eat and sleep.

She's had a few children since arriving, surprised that her second clutch was fathered by Hex himself, the clan father. Despite this, she loves them all, and Akava has all her pride in what she has become. Shade may treat all the clan as her family, but her remaining daughter will always have her love as a mother.
