Moonshine

It was a stormy night. The storm already lasted endless days and moonlights father became more and more desperate. Without the loving warmth of his soulmate, how would he be able to make it through this neverending storm...and keep his unborn children safe?
These eggs were all he had left. He had promised to keep them safe. He was exhausted.
Taking cover in a little cave he found, he fell asleep...keeping the eggs close to his beating heart. It was a deep sleep with a weird dream. He seemed to float in an endless depth of darkness. It felt like drowning. There was no way out. He was scared to death but he did not let himself be overwelmed by this feeling, he could not, he had to be strong for his children. Suddenly he felt a warm energy embrace him softly and he heard a voice...her voice. "You are strong...you know you are strong!" ... the voice was soft and kind..."everything is going to be ok but you need to go back...THEY need you...you have to let go!"...and then he could see her face crystal clear in front of him. It lasted only a second and her face shattered in a million sparkling pieces. That's when he woke up. It was still night but the clouds had passed on. The moon was shining now and the first thing he could see were little sparkling eyes staring at him...one, two, three...three pairs of beautiful sparkling eyes. His heart skipped a beat. But in this second he realized that one was missing. The fourth egg...where was it? Where was the fourth pair of sparkly eyes? Panic hit him instantly. It was gone. Two days he spent walking around the cave looking for the lost egg. It must have been fallen out of the cave. In the third night he had given up all hope. He embraced his three sleeping children and he stared at the fullmoon. A tear dripped from his cheek. The moonlight was strong in this night but small clouds split it up into soft rays. He watched the moon and as he stared at it one beam became stronger...and stronger. A strange feeling kicked in and it pulled him towards this moonlight ray. He started to run, following the path of the light. The strange feeling became stronger...and then...he stopped. He could not believe what he saw. The moonlight softly embraced this little dragon girl on the ground. This babys skin was so different from the others. It had spots just like the surface of the moon and it sparkled a little. But the wings, the wings just looked exactly like hers. Lilith.
He was overwelmed. He took the baby and carried it in his cave. They were complete. Looking at his babys, he knew that even if Lilith was gone, she would always live on in their children. He just had to look at them and he knew...he would die for them in an heartbeat.
