Biography

Amethyst doesn't remember much about her childhood. Her parents, though caring in their own way, had too large of a brood to notice much that went on in the lives of their individual hatchlings. Feeling lonely and neglected, se decided to venture out on her own before she was even old enough to breed.

She quickly joined a new lair, one that was just starting out. She was shy, not wanting to ask too much attention of anyone as she wasn't used to other dragons even noticing her existence.

One day, as the clan celebrated the return of the army from battle and Amethyst hid in a corner as usual, one of the warriors, a Level 15 Nocturne by the name of Monroe, approached her. He reminded Amethyst of her father in a way.

Monroe then shocked her, by asking her her name, and why she was hiding. She simply lowered her head and mumbled that she didn't want to get in the way. Monroe didn't press the matter further, but insisted that she accompany him, saying that were the lair attacked in the night, he would protect her. After all, he had said, there is safety in numbers, and he would hate to see anyone hurt because they were too worried about being in the way to find protection.

There never was an attack, but Amethyst never left Monroe's side again. Over time, he got the story from her about how her parents had neglected her, about how her siblings had, much like her, left the lair at such young ages that she had little to no memory of them.

She talked of how she had always wanted to know her eldest brother, Lorus. An aspiring warrior, he'd been called to serve the Windsinger before Amethyst had been hatched, but her parents always talked about him. He was their pride and joy, and, according to Amethyst's older sisters, very caring and attentive. She wanted someone to care more than anything.

Monroe had responded by picking some daisies that were growing nearby and twisting them into a crown for her. "Well," he said, "now you have me."

Amethyst began following in her surrogate brother's footsteps, training to be a warrior like him. After reaching Level 12, she came home to share the news and found him packing.

He explained that he was leaving to train with other clans for a while, and that Amethyst was to stay behind. Their home needed someone to protect it.

She didn't listen. That same night, she snuck out, following Monroe's trail until she reached the new lair. She arrived just in time to head out into battle, and while Monroe was furious, he soon overcame it as he watched her fight and saw how well she was doing. He was honored to have her train with him.

Months passed. The pair discovered that their old home had been destroyed, and Monroe's lover was among the many dead. They stayed in the lair hosting them, hoping to find a new home soon.

Eventually, they left to train with Monroe's eldest son, Jason. Jason told them that a nearby clan needed an army, and that he felt Monroe and Amethyst perfect for starting it. They accepted.

They settled into their new home quickly, but this was not to be without its own problems. While Amethyst stayed behind finishing her training, Monroe went to prepare their new home. Without Amethyst, a new recruit had to be brought in to fill the spot in their ranks. Enter Luna.

Luna seemed a bit of a big-shot, and incredibly popular, though she never seemed to notice it. She already had a mate, though two months younger than Amethyst, who had been sheltered from most males by Monroe. She immediately annoyed Amethyst.

Being of a higher level, Amethyst pulled rank at every chance as she and Luna battled alongside in the Rainsong Jungle.

One day though, in a particularly heated battle against an Overcharged Silverbeast, after Monroe had fallen, Amethyst choked. She worried about what would happen to their clan if she failed, and her attacks began missing. Luna quickly intervened and saved the day, forming a bond between the two. They became like sisters.

Much happier now that things have settled, Amethyst continues to look up to Monroe. Because of his influence, she is now the second-in-command of their army. To this day, she wears the dried daisy crown that he made for her.

She is still seeking a mate.
