Waterfall had a touch of Shadow about her, but her heart always belonged to Water. When her parents left her for the Shadowbinder, Waterfall swam from Driftwood Drag to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, finally settling in Leviathon Trench. She lurked in its deepest places for years. The dark water concealed her and kept her from the inquisitive gazes of other dragons. Waterfall longed to be alone, and she found her solitude in the trench. There, no one cared where she came from or who she was. The trench left its mark on Waterfall. Her once light blue scales became seeped with dark. She collected what she found on the ocean floor, covering herself with the shells and trinkets she found in the pitch black waters. Born in the Tangled Wood, Waterfall had no trouble with darkness. Her night vision was impeccable, and she knew how to make do without sight.
One day Waterfall stumbled across a lost skydancer. He had a similar story to hers. Seafoam was born in the Scarred Wasteland, but moved to Tsunami Flats after his parents her exalted. Seafoam had then wandered into the Leviathon Trench. His sense of direction was terrible, he explained to Waterfall. Waterfall was charmed by the lost skydancer. She offered to show him the way home. During the journey they got to know each other better and fell in love. In some ways, they were the perfect pair. Seafoam was like the playful side of the sea. He playful and had a terrible attention span. The only thing he was constant in was his love of music and his love of Waterfall. Waterfall, on the other hand, was like the deep parts of the ocean. She was slow to make a decision, but once she did she was stubborn with the power to back her opinions up.
As mates, Seafoam and Waterfall wandered the Sea of a Thousand Currents. No place was quite right for both of them, but they both loved water.
