Appearance:
Xalen has a somewhat lean yet muscular body type. His skin is tanned and seems to be free of any scars except for a small one on his left eyebrow. When in the deserts of Omir, he would typically have his head shaved to help him keep cool. But after leaving Omir to travel, he let his hair grow out, even so he still likes to keep it short. His hair is a bit longer in the middle than on the sides. The middle is a silvery-black color while the sides are a light brown. (If you look up a black-backed jackal, you will see what I mean.) His eyes are a warm, chocolate brown and his features are well formed, giving him an overall handsome appearance. His voice has a rich, warm sound with hints of a regional accent. He always carries two khopesh which are sheathed across his back in opposite directions.

Personality:
Xalen is a pretty friendly guy, able to easily adapt to any social situation. Although he does like to meet knew people, he is not naive about it. He does know that not all people are kind and benevolent, but he does try to give people the benefit of the doubt. He loves to explore new places and learn new things, which is what led him to want to leave Omir and explore the rest of the continent. Xalen likes to rely on his wit and cleverness to both get him out of situations and during fights. Anything goes in a fight for him, trickery, traps, you name it. Even though his fighting style might be less than honest, Xalen will remain loyal to those he calls his friends.

Backstory:
Xalen is related to the royal family of Jackals in Azra, but his family is a branch family that doesn't have much of a chance to have one of its members ever being royalty. However, his father does still hold a high position in the government there. Typically, Xalen would never have been able to travel around the continent like he does but he has two older brothers, so there was pretty much no chance of him taking over his father's position. Which suited him just fine. After a lot of time convincing his parents, Xalen was eventually allowed to travel.
