With parents that valued the subtlies of the community, building up a face they could show to those around them, a lie of wealth and riches, things can go very wrong. Attacked for the truth by those angry at the lies, a little hatcling Elza was caught in the crossfire, her pearl cracked and a young one alone, she barely managed to survive at all. Over time, struggling and sleepless hungry nights, Elza slowly learned the ways of the wild, the rough and the streets. Finding herself beside the sea, she'd often stowaway with the dragons who travelled upon it, only there did she feel safe from those that once hunted her. Each time she tried to present herself to others, the crack on her pearl had her driven away again immedialtey.

But hunger is a demanding beast, and she soon discovered that those wealthy societies who shunned her would also feed her if she took from them what she needed. Finding a small joy in this she continued to steal from wealthy
