Biography

Reaper was a fighter from the first day she was born. As she grew and her strength and skills sharpened, she became increasingly ambitious. She fought with the adults in her Mirror pack, asserting her own dominance from a very young age. Soon, she occupied a high rank in the pack. She was a true devotee of the Plaguebringer, dedicated to the principle of survival of the fittest. She possessed a love of meeting and overcoming challenges.

Reaper's ambition outgrew the small Mirror pack she was born into, and she turned her attention to other things. By chance, she met Ashtoreth while patrolling the Abiding Boneyard. The two realized how much they had in common – they shared the same values of survival by competition, and they shared the goal of promoting the Plaguebringer's influence wherever possible. They traveled around the Scarred Wasteland together. Slowly, a loose group of dragons began to coalesce around them. This was the beginning of Clan Chaos Star. Ashtoreth was the priestess and Reaper the warrior. Both were ideally suited to their roles.

One night, a rival Mirror pack attacked Clan Chaos Star, hoping to seize their territory. Reaper fought back and killed a dozen enemies, but was at last overwhelmed. It took eight dragons to bring her down. When they saw their war-leader fall, the Chaos Star dragons rallied with a vengeance and drove off the Mirror pack, but Reaper was close to death. Ashtoreth took her to the edge of the Wyrmwound and dipped her claws into the toxic brew. She hoped that the Plaguebringer would send the fires of pestilence to purge Reaper and make her whole again.

The Plaguebringer blesses those who pass her test. Reaper fought back against the illness and woke up, but the disease had changed her physiology. Her heart barely beat. She needed little food and rest. The scales melted off of her face and her eye sockets glowed with the same green light as the skies above the Wasteland. Reaper was stronger than ever, and soon resumed her post as war-leader. She decorated herself with rags and feathers to appear even more imposing in battle. She is a typical Mirror in some ways, a dragon of few words and decisive actions. Rather than make use of swords and other weapons that some other dragons favor, Reaper's only weapon, apart from her teeth, are razor-sharp metal talons. With her natural agility and speed, this is more than enough to handle nearly any foe.

As a leader, Reaper is a cunning and calculating strategist. She is neither soft nor nurturing by nature. But every Chaos Star dragon knows she would lay down her life to protect them without hesitation.

When the Sunforger refugees arrived on her lands, Reaper's first impulse was to drive them out. But a Wildclaw and an Imperial came to her, hoping to change her mind. They spoke of cooperation, of fighting together to survive. Clan Chaos Star was surrounded by enemies, but with the help of the refugees, they might actually be able to expand their territory. Reaper listened. She could see that the dragons were true survivors, and even if they had an Emperor with them, they might be of use to her. She insisted, however, that their Matriarch pass a trial by combat to prove herself and her clan as worthy allies. This, of course, was Firelight. She and Reaper were very closely matched in both fighting skill and raw determination, and their battle was long and bloody. Neither would yield, until Calliope stepped bravely between them and declared a draw. After that, Reaper proclaimed that the Sunforger dragons had demonstrated the necessary toughness, and the alliance between the two clans began.
