Backstory
Keegan's egg was found alongside Ivon's in a desolate corner of the Driftwood Drag. It was a miracle the two egg had survived as long as they did, or perhaps fate: the heat of the fire egg warmed the nature egg, keeping it from cooling, and the residual nature magic from the nature egg kept the fire egg alive and healthy. Vaeviar found the two eggs nestled in a hollow tree trunk, and brought them back to Clan Phantom to raise herself. Keegan and Ivon were hatched and raised as brothers, almost never seen apart. As a hatchling, Keegan was slightly puzzled by Ivon's quietness until it was discovered that Ivon was mute. Ivon and Keegan both learned sign language from Vaeviar, but Keegan soon came up with a different idea. He began to teach Ivon the frill signals he was learning from Fal and Flare. Ivon quickly picked up the signals, and Keegan discovered his own natural talent for languages. Once he mastered sign language and fae signals, Keegan endeavored to learn other languages, even attempting to imitate the humming pitches of coatls. Skylark was his biggest help in this respect, and she schooled him in several types of writing, a few more ancient languages, and pointed him in the direction of several booksellers with helpful tomes. As an accomplished linguist, Keegan is often called upon to translate for diplomatic situations, particularly when beastclans are involved. He has proved invaluable in a recent treaty with a nearby longneck clan.
Personality
Keegan is a friendly, talkative dragon, and has no problem striking up conversations with strangers, unlike his shy adoptive brother, Ivon. He mastery of language broadens his scope of strangers to chat with, much to Ivon's dismay. As one of the clan's primary translators (the other being Skylark), Keegan has a lot of responsibility for such a young dragon. He has shown himself to be very mature and intelligent for his age, and the clan is glad for his help. Keegan likes to amuse his mother, brother, and clanmates with tricks of flame. He is rather laid back for a fire dragon, and he finds Kaelah's fiery temper somewhat intimidating.
