Gaatlok frequently stays in the lower pits of the cove, studying with Marred, an Imperial with an adept skill in alchemy. He creates explosives for the clan, and the fact he hasn't brought down the upper layers of the cave yet is a miracle. He is a relatively short dragon with massive wings, and a boisterous attitude to make up for his lack in height. His stature makes for quick getaways and nimble claws for setting an explosive that larger dragons can't take apart without detonating. He often states that he ended his Search with the charge and explosion of his first bomb, but truly, the itch for his Search has always been eating at the back of his mind. Gaatlok grew up in the shadow of his steel-crested brother, Anima, who was a brave and honorable dragon meant to take the lead of the clan when he was ready. Rather than facing his already planned destiny, Anima ended up being Exalted to the Tidelord to join his forces and study directly under the deity himself. This greatly relieved Gaatlok as he left, and he stood taller, and rose to his own sort of power in the clan as he found his own destiny. |
| As he grew in confidence and intelligence, he became more attracted to the, at the time, single and lovely dames of the clan. His older brother, AsaaTareth of the first clutch, left behind his mate when he left the clan long ago. It never quite concerned him until now, feeling the need to have clutches of his own and train his hatchlings, and Phantasia was the perfect dragon to nest with. It took him years to win over her, but eventually she agreed to let him become her one and only consort. |
