Biography

role: sentinel
personality: lonely, asocial, easy to bore
hobby: napping on windy days
mate: Arina
pet: he wake up from a long nap and found it cuddling on his neck

+ he was a traveler, he stopped for Arina
+ his only affection is for Arina
+ he doesn't care about his hatchlings, nor others
+ he rarely talk
+ he doesn't hesitate on battlefield, he's a very good fighter but he don't like to fight
+ he rarely seek company, his ideal day is a solitary one
+ when Sulmara's pack attacked his clan he fought and killed even if they was lead by two of his daughters (he REALLY don't care about his bloodrelatives). But he didn't like how Arina took it.
+ he didn't care when they was forced to move but he really like to explore this new forest area

Arina dove her claws into the body of the brd she was hunting. She sighed as she picked up the body and dropped it into the bag they kept for food that hunters would catch. It seemed as if the amount of prey was dropping down despite it being the warmer seasons in the Southern Icefield. It wasn’t much of a cause for concern, as it was only a slight change, but sooner or later something would happen. Arina just couldn’t tell what.

Hearing the sound of snow crunching underneath the howling wind, Arina ducked down, making herself smaller and less likely to be seen. The swirling snow made it hard to see, but she could see the approaching silhouette of a dragon. Claws and teeth sharp and deadly, she was ready to take on this dragon. Arina was ready to pounce but stopped herself upon seeing her mate, the Spiral Ibex.

He nodded at her, a signal for her to come back with him. Although Ibex rarely ever talked, Arina and he communicated with ease that only mates would know. That, and Arina considered him to be an equal, so it was only fair that she’d understand him. She’d tried to get him to go on border patrols or hunting sessions with her considering his fighting skills, but he’d always refuse, once saying, “I despise fighting.”

It isn’t obvious, but Arina and Ibex loved each other.

(Years ago)

“We’ll have to train them. I won’t have weaklings as my offsrping.” Arina growled as she laid there with her mate, examining her newborn hatchlings play with each other. All she saw was how weak they would be unless they underwent intense training.

Ibex stood up suddenly. Arina turned her head, confused, and looked up at him, wondering what he’d do. All of a sudden, he started shouting, something that was practically impossible to see Ibex doing.

“Get up! Stop lazing about!”

The startled hatchlings stopped what they were doing, whether it was playing with a toy mouse that was meant to be used for training or nipping their siblings. Arina watched as her usually uncaring mate ordered her hatchlings about, commanding them to push themselves to their physical limits. Any and all of Arina and Ibex’s hatchlings are either strong or dead.

That strength was her downfall.

There was so much screaming. Dragons ran, scales bloody and armor burnt. Arina held her ground, slashing throats and sinking her teeth into living bodies. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Ibex fighting. Actually fighting. Ibex, a dragon who always refused to fight. Although, desperate times call for desperate measures.

“Attack!” A purple Spiral cried.

Sulmara. She was the leader of the rebels. Her elaborate iron armor glinted in the light of the fires and the blood shining on her claws and snout practically a flashing neon sign to the fact that she was most wanted by those still loyal to the clan.

Their daughter Sumara was fighting against them. Using the skills her parents had taught her to destroy her birthclan with her own army. And they were winning. The clan’s best warriors had turned against them under the word of Sumara. Arina had no idea why.

“Retreat! Everyone, retreat!” Arina whipped her head around to see that Ibex had yelled it out.
“No! We have to stay and fight!”
“If we do, then we’ll all die. They’re too strong. Our daughter is too strong. We have to flee.”
“To where?!”
“Just run.”

(Now)

For days, the group of survivors fled. They traveled Northwards, fleeing from the Southern Icefield. As the group traveled, they were constantly ambushed. The total amount of survivors once they reached a safe spot in the Viridian Labyrinth was only about a dozen. Arina was fierce, protecting each and every dragon to her abilities.

They set up camp in the Nature flight’s home quickly, though recovery wasn’t the same. To this day, the clan is still recovering from the forced move and the casualties. Arina is more than furious about the fact that her own daughter betrayed her clan.

“Arina, calm down.”

Arina snarled and slashed at the wooden training post with her talons. She moved quickly, swerving around trees and other wild plants like a snake slithering through the sand. Ibex watched quietly as she let out her pent-up rage.

“I am calm!” She growled back. “I’m training right now!”

Ibex sighed and flew directly in her flying path. She skidded to a stop and glared at him. Ibex moved slowly towards her until, finally, the two were about inches apart. Ibex nuzzled her, a rare sign of affection.

“It’s in the past. Calm down, Arina. You will get your revenge one day.”

Said Spiral closed her eyes and exhaled slowly. Her muscles loosened, the frustration and rage on her face melted away. It was only her mate, Ibex, that could cool her down like this. If any other dragon, even her now only daughter who worked as a battle trainer, attempted to do this, their face would already be bloody from the scratch marks of her claws.

It isn’t obvious, but Arina and Ibex cared.
