Nightwing is one of the founders of the Pardian Clan. He and Starfire were found by Aen as abandoned eggs in the Shrieking Wilds, at the very beginning of Aen's travels. The young Nocturne had discovered them just as they began hatching, and, concerned for their safety in the Wilds, she elected to take them back to the Sunbeam Ruins with her. Thus, while Nightwing was born as a Nature dragon, he has always felt more at home in the Lightweaver's realm.

Nightwing, Starfire, and Aen have been inseparable since they found each other. As soon as the two hatchlings were old enough, the three of them (along with Aen's Parda, Swift) set off to travel Sornieth and explore all that their wide world had to offer. Over the years, they have adopted many dragons from different walks of life into their tight-knit clan. Some of these members stay at the clan's home base, a cave on the seacliffs near the Beacon. Others, including Nightwing and Aen, continue exploring and learning.

One side effect of Nightwing's chaotic upbringing is his confused identity. While he hatched from his egg as a Fae, he has met with many potionsmasters to change his shape and his appearance throughout his life. He has also tried out life as a Mirror, as a Spiral, and now walks as a Wildclaw. Of his many forms thus far, a Wildclaw has felt most comfortable to him. Perhaps it is due to his origin in the Shrieking Wilds, the home of all Wildclaws.

While no one can tell the future, Nightwing feels confident in his own. He loves life in the Pardian Clan; loves giving other lost dragons a home; loves the feeling of the wind in his wings. He truly feels he could spend the rest of his life as he is now.
