DYSTOPIA
"No matter how bright the light shines, it will always cast a shadow when it comes in contact with other beings."

The Monarch's Adviser
Adviser to Utopia, Dystopia was hand-picked by the reigning queen due to his lust for a world plunged in chaos, where everything that had once been seen as perfect reared its ugly head to show its true discord. He is known to be called upon by Utopia whenever something within her clan seems amiss to her, for she trusted him to destroy all that bothered her, be it architecture or dragon. He needs no reason to follow her orders, simply allowing the chaos and blood lust within himself to follow her demands and annihilate anything in his path. He does not follow the ideals or right and wrong or good and bad, and he does not limit his violence to those deserving of it. He simply does what is told of him by Utopia, whether it is within the law or not. He was chaos on a pretty chain, tied to the thing he hated the most. Yet he loved her, his precious Utopia, and though he was restless, he was content to be her force of destruction, so long as she remained his.

He waited in the shadows as destruction reigned down on what had once been perfection, yet had succumbed to the darkness that lurked within. Perfection could not exist without discord, peace would not seem so sweet without war first having distraught, and the sun shined brighter after the storm.

Now, it was the time of destruction, of sweet, sweet satisfaction as worlds crumbled to dust under the warring of creatures that had once lived peacefully on the lands now being destroyed. He knew that soon it would all be over, everything that had once been beautiful and pure would be destroyed, and his time would come.

And so he waited.

Everything beautiful fell, as he knew it would. Everything pure was tainted. Everything fresh and lively was infected with a rot that ate at the civility in each individual; a parasite that burrowed deep into the soul and bled corrupted thoughts into those affected by its unique brand of bestial beauty.

And then, in the midst of the destruction, through ash and fire, she came to him. As beautiful as first rays of dawn breaking over the horizon; the mere sight of her made his blood boil. She was everything that he was not; his polar opposite.

He wanted to destroy her, taint her, break her until all of the light melted out of her eyes and left soulless black holes. Yet, despite the wildness be presented, fangs bared and claws raised, she still came.

Her approach brought a proposal; a place in her new world that no other could inhabit but him. A permanent home at her side; her heart on a silver platter, if only he agreed to chain his to her in return. He could be her claws; her force of destruction to obliterate all that she thought not suited for her world, and in return she would allow him free reign to cause discord on all that she did not protect. He would be the darkness to her light, the poison to her cure, and he would play with the toys she no longer wanted to play with.

He, chaos incarnate, destruction and discord in his blood, first thought to refuse her. He could not caged, just as a raging tsunami could not be stopped. Yet even chaos bowed under the rule of power, as the water bowed under the demands of the Tidelord, and she was the most powerful being he had met. Not pure, physical power, for she seemed as delicate as the first snowfall and as fragile as thin ice, but the power of will that she exercised over him.

And so he accepted her offer, if only for the promise of her heart; something so pure that begged for him to corrupt it.

All light cast shadows, no matter how bright. Even the sun, giver of all life and provider of happiness, cast the darkest of shadows when it blessed the world with. For, he knew, no matter how innocent Utopia may have seemed, she cast the darkest shadows wherever she want: she cast Dystopia in her wake.
