Biography
ORIASIS
Clan Founder, Leader, & Defender |
|
B I O G R A P H Y
He is a free spirit, which was why he initially settled the clan in the Windsinger’s domain. However, as the purpose of his clan became clear, he knew a change was needed. The clan clearly had a tendency to adopt foundlings; young and old, regardless of breed, size, ability, or moral alignment. This required a more stable place for those who may not be able to fly so well, and an abundance of healing herbs and remedies that the rocky soil of the Windswept Plateau could not yield in large enough quantities. And so, the clan moved to settle in the Gladeveins, under the rule of the Gladekeeper, where their clan grew to an expansive size. Under her watch, Aurasyr found her own life’s partner, her soulmate, and the clan became stronger than ever. Now a healthy host of fighters, thinkers, artists, healers, and yes, a few disturbers-of-the-peace, enemies fear to cross them and allies stand beside them. A prosperous and glorious clan, Oriasis could not be prouder of what he helped create. |
PERSONALITY
He has a soft spot for the young, and hatchlings are often seen climbing his immense bulk, and he’s never too busy to give flying lessons to the younger dragons in the clan. He loves the wind, and can often be seen aloft, not being overly fond of the constraints of gravity. He loves deep and he loves long, and no dragon who gains his favour falls from it easily. A giant guardian with a heart of gold, friend or not, all members of the clan respect him. By most, he is adored. |

Happy 6th Birthday, Ori!!
Pronounced: or-EYE-ah-sis
Patriarch of the Gladeguard clan, Oriasis is the leader and authority in everything the clan does. He is a compassionate leader who will do anything for his clan. The Gladeguards are his charge, and his very purpose in life.
When he isn't out doing things to benefit the clan, he can be found aloft, wheeling and playing with his charges in the winds above the expansive Shrieking Wilds.
Sylce is his mate, and as new faces arrive, he appreciates her stability and shared memory of the place where they began. His dearest friend is Aurasyr, who he cares for as he would a treasured daughter, and the two can often be seen together in the skies or in the canopy.
*~ A Reminiscent Reverie ~*
"What lies behind those pensive eyes, my dear?" said Sylce, approaching Oriasis quietly from the ground behind him. He was resting on an enormous fallen tree, though not dead - as with so many things in the Shrieking Wilds, it simply regenerated into a new form of life. It offered a clear view of their Clan's lands, a place Ori could often be found, surveying the group and musing to himself.
"Oh, just remembering the old days," said the gold dragon, his eyes softening as he looked at his partner.
"In the Wind Flight, you mean?" encouraged Sylce, sidling up beside him and curling her tail around herself. She enjoyed being up high too, out of the stifling heat of the forest, where the wind offered some relief.
"Mmm. Do you ever contemplate returning?" Oriasis asked, shifting his position slightly so that his wing sheltered Sylce and tail wrapped around behind her. After all, she was only a portion of his size.
"I do, sometimes...we were much closer to the icefields back then, made my trips much shorter!" she remarked.
"But is that the only thing?" he continued, "There's nothing else?"
"Well it's certainly hotter here," she commented. "But, aside from those things, I feel more protected here. Not to mention all the new kinds of food!"
He smiled down at her, in his way, appreciating her somewhat simple nature. He knew the move was best for the clan when they undertook it, and since then, the clan had nearly quadrupled in size. It was a more defensible area, and he had to admit to himself, he felt it easier to care for everyone here. And yet...the freedom of the winds still called to him. He was a wind dragon after all, and that was where his heart was called. His primary charge, Aurasyr, loved it here, but he knew she would also welcome the winds beneath her wings.
"You're doing it again!" Sylce said abruptly.
"What?" he asked.
"Being all broody and quiet. I know it looks very leader-ly, but it sure doesn't make for good conversation!" she chided.
"Sorry about that," he said sincerely, as he rose from his roost. "Join me for a sunset flight?" he offered.
"You know it! Last one in the air is a rotten egg!" she chirped, diving off the edge of the tree and flapping her wings.
"Ugh, don't remind me..." he said quietly, as he dropped off the edge himself and easily caught the air currents in his massive wings.
